sloopskipper says on Mar 12, 2008, 08:46:

Easter is Easter no matter where you go if you're Christian. Colombia is 95% Catholic, so yes, they do celebrate it. In fact, they start celebrating from Palm Sunday until Easter which is Semana Santa (Holy Week).

Bickeress...Did you know that Colombia does not celebrate Valentine's Day. That's why I am asking the question.

Did you know that ROMANIA celebrate Easter twice - one for catholic and one for orthodox?

Gator says on Mar 12, 2008, 09:30:

Is the Pope Catholic??? A HUGE holiday! Mrs. Gator and I will probably meet a couple of her sisters in Popoyan-reservations were made eight months ago.

Vicshere... yes in September, but not in 14th February.....

I'll be damned if I send an Easter card to my girlfriend when they celebrate in October !!!

Gator says on Mar 12, 2008, 09:39:

No Valentine's Day per se, but they DO have Dia del Amor & la Amistad. Mid September, the 17th I think.

Personally I would NEVER send an Easter Card for Valentine's Day no matter what the date. With Mrs. Gator that would be, for me, death from a thousand cuts.

I am going to be in Cartagena during the Easter week (Semana Santa). BTW anyone aware of any club closures duirng that week??

sloopskipper says on Mar 13, 2008, 13:00:

It seems that hotel rooms are very difficult to get in some cities during that week, and must be booked far in advance, correct?

Mononoke28 says on Mar 13, 2008, 15:28:

That is correct. You get a free chimichanga for that one!!!

Congratulations.
