Is a good question Engine..I am in the same situation. I went to Eafit 2 weeks ago and took my placement test. I like Eafit only because of its location to where I stay. However, I have heard good things about Pontifica which lends that they may be slightly better. For example class size, instructors, and most impotent to me..time of class...Eafit has a 6am to 8 am classes which doesn't bode well for my liver...
Have you been to both schools? Eafit is larger I believe in campus and population. Both are friendly.

Pontificia Bolivariana is a great UNI with great teachers and reasonable prices, i´ve been studying there for the last 5 months or so and love it. From what i hear, Eafit is a good UNI but very expensive compared to the others.

Funny, my girlfriend plays soccer for Pontificia Bolivariana. They play Eafit next weekend. Not sure what it has to do with this post but found it ironic somehow. Go PB! =)

Thanks. I would like to actually study spanish with structured classes rather than just learn by listening. That is if I can find a pretty cheap place to do that.

I´m in a class of 3 at the moment but you can have 1 on 1 classes, there aren´t many foreigners there at the mo. The prices will vary depending on what you want, how long you will stay and how many in the class. The teachers are great, i´ve had 3 different teachers so far and all 3 were top class.

Ok, I found it on the website. $250usd for 40 hours. It's a little cheaper than eafit but on my salary still a little too much for me. Damn I need a better job.

Not sue which one is better for spanish courses but certainly both schools are equally good from what i know and have heard in what they offer.

Just stay away from girls who major in Comunicacion Social!!!

Ask around if you dont know why! Anyone in Medellin can tell you why.

I agree with Paul. I have been studying at UPB since October. Here is their Spanish for Foreigners website: http://convena.upb.edu.co/cdelenguas/ele.html.

My class sizes have varied from 1 to 6. Many times they think about splitting the class if it stays at or exceeds 6. Currently I have individual instruction by my choice. The individual instruction is a little costly at 35K per hour.

Gustavo Jaramillo is in charge of the Spanish for Foreigners program. He is a great guy who really works with you to get you where you want to go.

UPB has around 8000 undergraduates and maybe 2500 graduate students. They also have around 8000 in a K-11 program. The campus is gorgeous and located in Laureles directly across the street from the Unicentro Mall. The campus anchors one end of the la 70 night scene.

I've studied at Eafit for several months.. I was lucky when I was studying there several years ago the lady in charge was a bit too nice and would often forget to charge me. so i did about five months and only paid for two.. but now im sure they are a bit more organised. Classes run about 18.000 - 19.000 pesos per hour for groups of up to six. Another option is at the Black Sheep Hostel where there is a very good Spanish teacher who is pretty busy teaching one on one clases to people from several hostels including the Casa Kiwi and Pit Stop. It's not so easy to find a decent Spanish teacher. She charges 16.000 pesos per hour, email her at info at spanishinmedellin.com

Good luck!
