PBH / colombia (travelguide, pictures) / post |
I need help with this question, i seem not to find it anywhere. I was born in the USA, lived in the USA all my life. Both my parents are colombian citizens born in colombia. I want to move to colombia but i need to become a colombian citizen first. I'm also planning to marry my boyfriend in colombia who is a colombian citizen. Can i have dual citizenship even dou i'm no longer a minor? what would be better to get married then get it or just go to the consulate and get it there? If i can? and do i need my parents to go with me? I'm very confused, i'm planning to move in a month and half. will i have time? please someone help me... thanks

ColombianoGringo says on Jul 3, 2008, 09:00: The easiest thing is to go with your parents. They will register you as their child. This will result in a Registro Civil de Nacimiento being processed. This may take up to a few months depending on the consulate that processes it.

You would get a temporary cédula (Contraseña) and the permanent one (the Cédula de Ciudadanía) will take much longer. "Brevior Sltare Cum Deformibus Mulieribus Est Vita!" . 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
