DS-156 Where to get it?

Where do we get the DS-156 form which I'm told is used t pay the interview fee at the Bank across from the embassy. And thats the only branch of that bank in Colombia where it can be paid correct? Thanks so much! -jt

why pay the DS-156 AND the $380 USD? My wifes packet 4 from the Embassy states to bring $380 US to the interview in cash or credit. So this is different than paying the DS-156 fee for the interview? Or is there a difference between interviews for K-1 and my CR-1 case? -jt

jt If you don't have the ds156, you can download it from the us embassy in colombia website page. they have several forms you can download from there. Yes, that's the one she takes to the bank with her along with one of her pictures (passport style). I believe that's the only bank she can go to. My fiancee's medical appointment was a week before the interview and she went to the bank about 6 days prior to the interview. I can't comment on the fee because ours was a k-1 visa. She only had to pay her's at the bank...none to the embassy.

call the embassy at least that someone else with a CR1 process write you back in this thread.

My understanding is that the firs 100 are just for the right to the interview but I dont know if immigrant visas are suposed to pay it as well.

I did more reading on the embassy site and it explains that we pay $380 at the embassy. It mentions the $100 at the bank for K-1 visas. But ours is CR-1.

So, JT, you did not pay the $380 earlier to the National Visa Center?

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

I paid the two fees to the NVC. Was that what they were for? That was back in June so I dont remember exactly. That would be great if what the Packet 4 instructions are saying, that we pay $380 at the embassy has already been fulfilled. I'm gonna look for the fee notices when i get home.
