PBH / colombia (travelguide, pictures) / post |
Hey everyone, I am back down to around 2 months, about 64 days to be exact. I have never been to Bogota and to tell you the truth I am a little nervous. I have been to been medellin 7 times in the last 2 years and love it a lot, but it is time to see more of Colombia, I am thinkin about catching a flight to San andres and then to Cali on this vacation to see a little of everything, I know 18 nights isnt enough, but I got to go back to Iraq to work......anyways, if anyone has any advice on bogota, where to go, good clubs and what not that would be great, all the nagative immature comments can be kept, just want to hear from people who actually have some sense....... Good restaraunts, any hip hop reggaeton clubs? Are there alot of clubs similar to Mangos/universal/ Palmeia in Bogota? Thanks all....

Been in Afghanistan, currently in Iraq, been to Medellin several times, and you are nervous about Bogota? --"I believe in making the world safe for our children. Robert Jorge says on Aug 14, 2007, 01:25: I think that is cool that you are excited about the new experience. And I am not trying to be condescending. If I were in your shoes, knowing what I know about Bogota ... which ain't much compared to a lot of people here, I would: Go to barrio candelaria while your girl is at work and just walk around, hang out, drink beer in the little bars. Skip the north side / zona rosa, and go down to primero de mayo and party with the real people at night ... a LOT cheaper too. You need to get in the normal tourist things: monseratte, walk around centro, visit the museums, refuse a dude trying to sell you pot 3 blocks from the Tequendama, etc. If you have the time and desire, take a trip to cities outside of Bogota. I would suggest Villavicencio. But there are many others that are equally as fun and interesting. Tunja comes to mind. Anyway, have fun. And stay away from the tourist crap around zona rosa. (Unless your into that) If you are, there is a TGI Friday's with service even worse than US locations. --"I believe in making the world safe for our children.
