Domestic Airline ? - Purchase now or when I arrive - Plus more questions :)

I'm trying to buy a round-trip ticket from BOG-CLO-BGO for July 4th-July 7th. On Avianca & Aeroreublica the tickets are $330-$340 r/t. Can I get a better price when I arrive to BOG from Atlanta on Wednesday night at a Ticket Store or at the airport or through a travel agent in the city?

My flight on Delta Airlines from BOG-ATL leaves at 9:30am on Monday. I intend to catch the 6am from CLO to BOG and would arrive in BOG at 6:55am. I'm not checking any bags so I will be able to get right off the plane and go to the Delta Ticket counter. Is this flight historically on-time and I'm just wondering if this is feasible? I'm in shape so I can run pretty fast to the terminal if that counts for anything!

Also I was looking for a good beach near Cali to check out on Sunday July 6th?...Does anywone have any suggestions of good spots that are cool to check out? BTW I'm 28 y/o, Athletic build so I and I normally blend into Latin American places to the point of them always thinking I'm a local. Look forward to hearing from you guys! Thanks :).

Ouch! Where did you get quoted that price? I would think that a walk up fare at Bogota's Airport would be less but that being 3 days away maybe not?

Your plane to and from Cali will depart from Puente Aero if you buy Avianca.. Bogota's airport has two terminals. One for International and Aerorepublica domestic.

You have plenty of time from 7:00 A.M to 9:30. Avianca has a shuttle bus ON THE TARMAC from Puente to El Dorado International.

Beaches in Cali? Buenaventura is a few hours away but I have not gone and have never heard anything to good about Buenaaventura due to para's, drugs and FAARC, ELN. Go to Cartagena, Santa Marta, Tyrona or SAN ANDRES for beaches.

I went to Cali many times and think the place to be rather boring in comparison to Bogota and Cartagena. Medellin even looks more appealing but too each their own.

When you do return to Bogota that morning don't delay in getting to Delta's ticket counter and get into that immigration line quickly for it can be slow. You have enough time that you don't have to "run". However, do not delay. I stopped to get a burger at Wimpy or Presto once and Avianca closed the plane door just as we squeezed through the door!

I don't know about AeroRepublica, but Avianca charges much higher fares for flights within Colombia when you purchase from the US. Your best option with them is to make the reservation a few days before you leave and pay for the tickets in Colombia.

Aires is another Colombian airline that you might try. They don't charge a different price in dollars. I recently bought some tickets through their website and got the same price as in Colombia. Their site is http://www.aires.com.co However, they do not have an English version of their site.

Is there some compelling reason for you to go to Bogota first? If not I don't know why you would not fly direct from US to CLO instead of the ATL BOG - BOG CLO CLO BOG BOG ATL hassle. You can fly from ATL to IAH for less than $200 tax Included round trip and then IAH CLO or you can go ATL MIA on a cheaper flight less then $150 tax included and then MIA CLO. I just dumped the fares from MIA to CLO or I would give it to you now.

I agree. Avoid Bogota is that if that is not where you want to go.
