Greetings everyone! I met a young lady in distress here in Key West. She works on a cruise ship that was passing through and wandered off the beaten path (got lost)trying to find the post office. Once we began talking she mentioned she was from Colombia. I walked her to the post office and had time to treat her to lunch. She gave me her address in Colombia. She is from the town of Guadalajara, De Buga, Colombia. Well I can't find it in my guide books or on my map of Colombia. Any one have an idea where it's located? Viva Colombia!

Peter Miami says on May 27, 2005, 11:30: I do not know if this will help you until someone that knows where it is at will help you. I had a Colombian girlfriend that lived in Buga. Buga is one hour drive north of Cali. There is also a city called "BugaGrande" means "large Buga" about 10 to 15 mintues north of Buga. In Colobia they add names infront or behind the word Buga so maybe it is one of these.

Peter Miami says on May 27, 2005, 11:45: Yes I spoke with Colombia and they told me that Guadalajara De Buga is the Buga that I told you. Probably the name is to big for a map. Like I told you before Buga is one hour drive north of Cali. Buga is very well know for a hugh church in the middle of the town it is called "La Milagrosa" (not sure of the spelling).

But I think she understands how futunate she is to have that job. She was heading to the post office to send money home. She was excited to speak to someone who has actually been to her wonderful country. She said she would call next time her ship is in Key West. Next time I will take her to the Western Union! Thanks Again!!!! Viva Colombia!
