Does anyone else feel the tremors in Medellin?

Last week at about 3am on Sunday or Monday morning there was a tremor, it wasn´t strong but things started shaking, i live on the 9th floor so might have been exaggerated. There have been 3 today already, very small though, i just feel a little dizzy until i realise that the place is moving slightly. It happened in UNI this morning(at about 11am) and everyone said they felt dizzy but realised that we were moving.

Is this normal here, i´ve been here 6 months or so and felt it twice before.

We have been experiencing the same in BOG. One a couple nights ago was 4,7 on the Richter Scale (according to El Tiempo) and did not cause any damage but was strong enough to wake us up at around 3:30am. The "high rise" living, we are on 11th floor, certainly exaggerates quite a bit. There was one today.

What I have, I do not want to lose, but Where I am I do not want to stay, but those I love, I do not want to leave, but those I know I no longer want to see, but Where I die, I do not want to go;I want to stay where I have never been

Just reading some facts on the subject and found this interesting http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/2059330.stm if you look at the information at the bottom of the page you will see there is an earthquake 1906, 1923 then not another till 1960 , pretty infrequent right, now look how frequent they are now, every year(3 in 2006). I´m sure there were more in the first half of the century but were never globally reported, even so, the politicions and oil companies still ignore these facts.

United States Geological Survey keeps an eye on seismic events worldwide. You can see the details about your tremors here:

There is historical data available as well. Unfortunately no crystal ball.

This is freeking me out, just felt another about 5 mins ago, again, very small but the place was def moving. If you look at this link, it says that there have been 2 in the last week http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/Maps/region/S_America.... the last one was when i said, yesterday morning but near Bucaramanga?. No Pilsen touched here, don´t like the stuff.

paulr,

Generally I feel them half a dozen plus times a month, for four years now.

I lived in Medellin longer, but in a differant properties and didn't feel them before, my present property is higher up and a slimmer building.

If you are at ground level you won't feel most of them.

I am under the view that it is a good sign feeling them, that way the plates are releasing the built up stress, if I didn't feel them regularly I would get worried as the plates are not releasing the stress and the stresses are building up for a big one.

paulr - i was out drinkin and i had to put one foot down on the floor last night when i went to bed. does that count as a tremor? more spinning than trembling, but i thought i would ask ;)
