Does anybody know?

Anybody know any airlines that sell the cheapest tickets to Bogota? Or the best way to go about getting the cheapest ticket? Thanks :)

The cheapest seem to be on Avianca.

LAN usually is very competitive, if not the least expensive, from the Miami to Bogota route. I also highly recommend them because of service and quality. Just check out their website. www.lan.com

I use www.kayak.com all the time- they at least give you a great benchmark. I seem to get better prices, much better, by calling Avianca directly when I want to get serious about pricing...

The cheapest I found when I was looking the other day was $520 w/taxes on Delta from Philadelphia--Miami---Bogota and opposite for the return.

MY TIP: Use Kayak to determine several of the fares that look attractive. THEN always call the airline 800 reservation and ask for the best (cheapest) fare that fits your schedule. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Mrs. Gator and I now consistently fly COPA and they seem to have the best fares. BUT you will stop in Panama City. We have just found that it is not worth the hassle trying to save twenty or fifty dollars. If you book Delta you will likely fly Avianca for the Colombian leg of the trip.

Also, remember that if you are using United before you hop on your connecting flight to Colombia, pretty soon they'll start charging $25 for the second bag you bring with you.

Avoid them at all costs.

If you know a travel agent, sometimes you can get a good deal through them... But, of course it's IF you know them... But, again you could use them as a benchmark and they can play with the dates and tell you what their cheapest ticket price is and then compare to the websites mentioned above...

Found this out when I bought my mom ticket in December, saved about $50 on the tickets through the travel agent...

Depends from where and when? Where are you flying from and when do you plan to go? For example if you look at AA you can get something cheap from Los Angeles or Florida. You need to work within the restrictions. For Example.

Los Angeles, CA to Bogota, Colombia $449 02/09/08-05/18/08 02/11/08-05/20/08 Restrictions

Los Angeles, CA to Cali, Colombia $434 02/09/08-05/18/08 02/11/08-05/20/08 Restrictions

Los Angeles, CA to Medellin, Colombia $434 02/09/08-05/18/08 02/11/08-05/20/08 Restrictions

Los Angeles, CA to Bogota, Colombia $469 02/09/08-05/24/08 02/09/08-05/31/08 Restrictions

Los Angeles, CA to Cali, Colombia $469 02/09/08-05/24/08 02/09/08-05/31/08 Restrictions

Los Angeles, CA to Medellin, Colombia $469 02/09/08-05/24/08 02/09/08-05/31/08 Restrictions

Looks like there is a airfare war on routes to Colombia. From the airline fare point of view, the fares are really cheap. Check the sites. I have added a link. Check it out. There are some other tips you can try when dealing with AA. You can PM me if you have questions.
