Do I need a return flight ticket when entering Colombia on tourist visa???

It really just depends. Usually it's the airline that will check (though most don't), I've never heard of DAS asking at the airport (but they usually do when you extend it, though i've gotten an extentsion without one) I came in on tuesday on a one way ticket without any problem (COPA). I have flown with them before where they made sure I had a ticket out.

I never had them ask or check for return tickets at the airport. Though, if you get visa extensions like a poster said above, a requirement is copies of your return flight tickets. So, to get in and stay for less than 60 days, generally speaking and with a bit of luck, "no", you do not need return tickets. I emphasize the word luck and am just saying "probably".

I've come in on a one way ticket with a tourist visa about six times in the past year..................never been asked for a return ticket..............Avianca said they required it so I always made an online reservation and then let it time out.............you can make the reservation without paying.........good for three days..............

I extended a touist visa a few months ago..........(.before I got my business visa.)............I did'nt have a return ticket........and DAS did'nt ask for one......welcome to Colombia..........amazing how the rules differ depending on the width of your smile.......no..?

Continental airlines wouldn't let me buy a ticket without a return ticket unless I had a visa. Also DAS told me they required a copy of a return ticket to extend a tourist visa.

When I enterented Colombia last October, I did not have to show my return ticket. I had a non refundable ticket ($700 USD) that was never used. Do not know if I would have been denied entry if I did not have it. I also did not need to show a ticket at DAS when renewing tourist visa. Have done so twice now at DAS.

das do not ask any thing about a ticket ,you do not have to show it ,you do not have to have one ,in fact they like it more if you don't have one ,that means you have to buy it here,that they like..you do not need at any time with das getting a visa show your ticket,
just go the office in park 93 ,tell them you got no idea how long you want to stay ,you want to look around ,pay 180 bucks ,get a 2 visa ,take that to das on the 100 get a blood test for your group in the road behind 8000,you get your visa card in 3 weeks ,if your not going to be in bogota tell them on this day ,they give you a paper that you make your mark on ,then with this any one can go pick up your visa card for you.
all this i have just done ,so i know im right.

I don't know that the official rules are, but I have been to Colombia so many times I couldn't possibly keep count and I have NEVER been asked to show a return ticket. Granted, I am Colombian(dual citizen), but I always enter Colombia with US passport so technically enter as a tourist. Besides, most people travel with paperless e-tickets these days, so wouldn't be able to show a return ticket if asked.

The airline may require a return ticket, but that is another issue.

When I got an extension to my tourist VISA in Cartagena in 2003, I had to provide 2 copies of my return ticket to DAS among other things to get my 30-day extension. Like everything in life, that may now have changed.

They can ask for a print-out of your itinerary in the case of an E-ticket.

the issue is with the airlines in the usa. they are on the hook for the immigration threat and can be heavily fined. therefore, they are the ones that require the return ticket. there are some loopholes strategies/solutions, but i have never tried.
