Why is there always that one Colombian drunk in your face trying to get you to drink something you dont want. Every party I go to there is always one. And they don't stop all night bothering the hell out of everyone.You all know the guy, the one who wants you to drink out his shot glass even tho you see parts of his dinner around the rim, he's very loud and spits on you when he talks. Colombian drunk a pain? Try dealing with an irate drunk German. Or a pissed off drunk HUGE Samoan. I've had to do both. I almost had to shoot the Samoan. From what I've seen in my neighborhood/barrio, less people drink or drink to excess than my neighborhood in So. Calif. perhaps they can't afford it. Although Aguadiente and brandy have some cheap varities. About 3-4 times a week a neighbor lady, her daughter, son and guests drink, beer, aguadiente and snort perico untilk the wee hours of the morning. No Thanks.. What is perico? Some kind of cut cocaine?

But, on a serious note... When I was in Colombia, we went out dancing and between... 6 people, managed to consume 3 bottles of whiskey... Actually, I should say 5 people, since I only had 2 drinks.... None the less, when we were ready to go home... My stumbling friend was ready to drive my sober butt home!... Fortunately, I value my life and forced him to sit his butt in the passengar seat as I drove us home.... Yes, it was an interesting night... He of course had sobered up after the 1 mile drive and after the 4am serenada, he was ready to drive home!...

Some colombians have drinking problems, some others barely touch alcohol. I think countries like Russia probably have much much higher rates of alcoholism than Colombia does.
