PBH / colombia (travelguide, pictures) / post |
Hi,
I am sent money to my fiance last week with the USPS Sure Money (dineroSeguro) service. I read about it on here and thought it was a good idea. However she went to bancolombia yesterday and they told her that her confirmation number is too long? I double checked and she has the right confirmation number. I called BanColombia, and Davivienda as well and they sound like they have never even heard of DineroSeguro. Is this USPS service legit? Or whats going on, has anyone ever sent money this way before? I would appreciate any help. I am going to check w/ the postal service tommorow if this doesn't work soon.
Thank you in advance

glicerina says on Nov 21, 2005, 21:23: Hmm you just tell them the confirmation number at the participating institution and the confirmation number right ? Mexicano Americano 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

utopiacowboy says on Nov 21, 2005, 21:32: Yes, she gives them the confirmation number to get the money. You may have to go back to your post office to get this straightened out. I think the Mexicans are much more familiar with this service than the Colombians are. She may be dealing with a bank branch that has never dealt with this before. utopiacowboy says on Nov 21, 2005, 21:40: I know one time I gave my girl friend the wrong number - what I thought was the confirmation number. So when I gave her the other number she was ok. Do you have more than one number? Give her them all. utopiacowboy says on Nov 21, 2005, 21:47: Yeah, the first time I did it, what I thought was the confirmation number was not so she couldn't get the money. I gave her every number I had then and she told me later which one worked. glicerina says on Nov 21, 2005, 22:02: Do you remember how long it was? Or what it was called on the reciept? Mexicano Americano 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

utopiacowboy says on Nov 21, 2005, 22:13: It was a pretty long number. I don't have any of the old receipts. Give her all the numbers you've got and make sure she goes somewhere where they've done this before. YTO SAN says on Nov 21, 2005, 22:16: Money Gram I personally use Money Gram online to send plata to Colombia, very fast and secure, and the money is available after only 15 mins. I've never got issues with them. Good Luck trying to straight that out at USPS. =======YTO SAN 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

calipro says on Nov 22, 2005, 04:45: Sending cash to Colombia. I have used "Ria Envia" to send money to Cali. You can pick it up at Cambios Country or BanColombia which ever is giving the best exchange rate at the time. It's relatively cheap. I think it cost $5 bucks to send $200 and the exchange rate was good also.

I know I did have some problems with the number the first time I used it.
