Difficult For Colombians in the UK to travel

BA and Avianca stopped their direct connection with Bogota a few years ago, i still don't understand that decission as the flight was always complete full.

Anyway Colombian are now forced to fly through Miami, Paris or Madrid.

On the moment i am inviting my brother in law to Lonndon and it took me a lot of problems to get the UK Visa but now i realise that France is asking for a transit visa now.

It is getting very ridiculous. You ending up spending more money in Visas then flights

Yep. Unfortunately, a "full flight" doesn't necessarily mean "good yields" and whether or not it's a profit making flight. BA now only funnels its passengers to partner IB and Spain doesn't ask a transit visa for Colombians (yet...). I can understand the frustration, however a transit visa will be given more easily if the passenger already has the other (UK) visa.
Good luck.

Embassies. Not being nice is like a common denominator. I've heard similar stories from the Spaniards, the Germans and the Dutch (according to my family they're rude, unhelpful, down right hostile and it's chaotic).

There's still hope.... Avianca plan to start up the old Bogota - London route sometime in 2007. I phoned the Avianca office in London and they'd heard the same but were unsure when this route would be starting up.

German Efromovich (Head of Avianca) was recently interviewed in El Tiempo and stated that opening the route to London was a priority.
