Ja ja, estos costeños si que tienen unos dichos chistosos, casi tan chistosos como los paisas :P

Para nosotros chacara es una costra, como cuando te pelas una rodilla y luego que se seca la herida te queda la "chacara" :P

What’s must puzzling is What’s mOST puzzling is why the fu-k did she have to carry that lamp all the way to the front of the church and wait a couple hours for my sorry ass to come out. There I was, very peacefully strolling out, bible on hand and crucifix in the other when all of the sudden, bam!! I heard a light bulb burst in my face and the lamp shade crumbled around my head. Luckily she miss, she wanted to hit me with bottom heavy part. If that happened I would not be here right now talking about it , I’ll be six feet under.

i'm having difficulty picturing this.... not so much a lamp being thrown at elmo, i could see that and other objects being thrown. what i have trouble envisioning, is elmo, walking out of a church, with a bible in one hand, and a crucifix in the other... lol

I love the rivalry! For such a small country, there is a lot of rivalry with regards to departamento of origin.

That said, many of the stereotypes are well founded. Cachacos stick out in B/quilla quicker than gringos do ;) Nevermind B/quilla, Rodadero is worse. How is that a paisa knows how to dress at the beach and the cachaco doesn't?

:)

Heh... The country may be small by American standards, but it's actually quite big by those of the region.

The beautiful geography has been a pain in the behind for travel ever since colonial times and that helped create isolated centers of development, leading to those strong rivalries and "regionalismos".

I blame the Spanish for that. :P Though I happen to like the diversity, regional rivalries sometimes do get out of hand...
