Detenidas 3 ecuatorianas que transportaban explosivos para las FARC

Tres ciudadanas ecuatorianas fueron detenidas hoy por la Policía de Colombia en el departamento de Nariño (suroeste) acusadas de transportar un cargamento de explosivos dentro de rollos de tela para la guerrilla de las FARC, según informó la agencia Efe.

Three Ecuadorian female citizens were detained today by the Colombian Police in the Nariño department (southwest) accused of transporting a shipment of explosives inside rolls of textiles for the FARC guerrilla acccording to the Efe agency.

Las detenidas, oriundas de la localidad ecuatoriana de Otavalo y cuyos nombres no precisaron las autoridades, viajaban en un taxi entre Ipiales, localidad fronteriza con Ecuador y el puerto de Tumaco, sobre el Litoral Pacífico (700 kilómetros al suroeste de Bogotá).

The detainees, originally from the Ecuadorian locality of Otavalo and whose names were not released by the authorities, were on a taxi between Ipiales, bordertown with Ecuador and the port of Tumaco, over the Litoral Pacific (700 kiilometers southwest of Bogota).

La Policía agregó que el decomiso se registró en un retén en el municipio de Piedrancha (Nariño), gracias a informantes que señalaron a las tres ecuatorianas como presuntas colaboradoras del frente número 29 de las FARC.

The police added that the confiscated items were seized at a checkpoint in the municipality of Piedrancha (Nariño), thanks to informants that pointed out the three Ecuadorians as presumed colaborators of the FARC 29 front.

Según la Policía de Colombia, los explosivos iban a ser utilizados para atentar contra la fuerza pública y torres eléctricas en Nariño.

According to Colombian police the explosives were going to be used to attempt against the public force and electric towers in Nariño.
