Denied entry because of NO Pages or Room Left for Stamps on Passport

I've been temporarily denied entry into China because my passport was full, and have heard of several other instances where its happened to other people. No idea how DAS would react, sorry.

I always order my passport with extra pages now, and since my Canadian passport is only good for a crappy 5 years filling it up has never been a problem...

Good grief...just go to your nearest embassy and they will add pages for no $. You are totaly responsible for ensuring there are enough pages. It takes 5 minutes to do this.

No embassy in Medellin....I am going this Thursday for the weekend from MIA to MDE..and then when I get back to Miami I guess going to pay for the fast service via US Passport Agency next day air...because have to leave again feb.7th back to MDE>>>so that gives me two weeks to get more pages added crossing my fingers no problems with DAS in Rio Negro Thursday night..they will stamp somewhere..

I have a few open pages and DAS still stamps on top of other stamps. Then of course you can't see it.

Yeah then when I leave they look at me from the Tax guy and checkout with DAS they ask me please show me your entry stamp...so always have that ready...many are on top of each other. A few times I could not find and show my entry boarding pass from the airline to the first agent who does a precheck....but one of these days I am going to have a problem going to definitely next Monday when I get back to MIA sending out the passport for more pages..

No Time this week..Working my ass off in peak Tourist Season here in Miami..Will be sending next day air Tuesday next week when I get back..I think in downtown Miami there is an emergency place to get a passport but to add pages don't thinkso..

remember, next time you get passport, get the multi page one. it has like three times the amount of pages. it used to be that you could get additional pages put in at the embassy. now, after 9/11, maybe it's different. you could just ask the folks at customs/aduana to give you a paper slip like the israelis do so you don't get denied entry by other countries that don't recognize israel. give it a whirl. it's a real dick-head to not let you in with out due process. ask him to see the DAS jefe in the airport.

Go to the USA Embassy in Bogota between Mon-Thurs (no festivos, nor US holidays) and pray they let you in. It should be completed the same day (if you arrive in the morning) at no cost. I couldn't get into the US Embassy in Bogota. They denied this US citizen with valid US passport and driver's license, etc. entry. LOL!!! YMMV. I'll never go back there regardless of the situation.

On the other hand, I went to the US Embassy in Lima Peru around 11 am. Got it all done within 3-4 hours. Was permitted to enter. Took a number in the office that specialized in that. Filled out the required form. Spoke with counter person who gave me some form to present when I returned. Came back after lunch, around 3 pm. Had pages added to my passport. No cost.

Very different experience than Bogota. This is closer to the experience that you should expect. Be sure to ask them to add the maximum number of pages allowed. Oh yeah, this all happened within months during 2006.

When I returned to Colombia Dec 2007 (Bogota El Dorado) DAS didn´t stamp an entry stamp. When I asked about it, he said they don´t do that any more since it is all now computerized. When I left in Sept. however, they did give me an exit stamp.

To get into the Embassy in Bogota you need to tell them you are going to Social Security. Just make sure it is a day SS is open. So far it has always worked for me, then I go do what I want.
