Current French/European Asylum Options For Colombian Nationals

Does anyone have any most recent personal, first hand knowledge of the system and process there and if system procedures are simple to navigate? If not France another European suggestion? The U.K. may be out of the picture, but will know more in a couple of months as this still in progress, just need a back-up...Did not see much in past history on PBH on this issue, thank you in advance all...
