Culture Question

I have a ten page paper that I have to write for my anthropology class by the 28th of this month. With this paper I have to interview people. Since my paper is over Colombians I was wondering if anybody could think of some questions that I can ask that would go good with my paper. Tomorrow I am interviewing a lady from Colombia. Any suggestions on what I can ask her.

Also I have not thought much about what my main topic is about. I was thinking about what things Colombians do in America that they did in Colombia. Such as their language, terminology, rituals, practices, norms (such as what is good, bad, not tolerated), values, beliefs etc... What do you think? Does this sound like a good main topic. I believe so because it might explain why cultures (Colombians in this case)do some of the things that they do.

Dude how many times are you going to post this? Talk about the obvious...what comes to your mind when you think of Colombia.

Use your own curiosity.

Listen to Uncle Gringo She could just be Cuban passing for Colombian

Can't be too careful these days kid.

I've heard about this thing happening in Colombia when interviewing Canadians passing for Americans.

GDL speaks the truth.

from the Colombian Ins. of Antropology and history
Expresiones del patrimonio cultural inmaterial
{expressions of cultural inmaterial patrimony of Colombia}

{To the next we are going to find a list of expressions of inmaterial Cultural patrimony of Colombia}

Recordemos que estas expresiones por sí mismas no representan el patrimonio;
{Remember that those expressions don't represent patrimony for themselves,}

{Patrimony are the relationships articulated between human beeings, the meanings and the usages of that expressions and obhects that constitute(?) ICPatrimony of Colombia

{We're showing some examples. It doesn't mean that those exampleas are most important of the country, because all the IP are same importants}

{Our intention is that they could guide us to remember every patrimony of each community -(talking to Colombians)}

• Lenguas y expresiones orales
{Tongues and oral expressions}
{knowledment and practices about natural world and universe}
• Saberes culinarios
{food knowledge}
• Medicina tradicional
{tradicional medicin}
• Elaboración de objetos, instrumentos, vestuarios, construcciones y ornamentación corporal
{handmading of objects, instruments, wear, objects to enhance the body}
• Expresiones musicales y sonoras
{musical and sound expression}
• Expresiones dancísticas
{dancing expressions}
• Expresiones rituales, escénicas, ceremoniales, actos festivos, juegos y deportes
{ritual expressions, teatral, ceremony, holidays acts, games, sports}
• Formas tradicionales de organización social, jurídica y política
{tradicional forms or social organizations, law organization and politic}

I took this guide from http://www.icanh.gov.co/ Instituto Colombiano de Antropologia e historia.

Of course, you are not interviewing a Colombian indian, but some statemets could support you as a guideline for questions like
1. What part of Colombia where you come from?
2. Does part have their own tongue or special dialectic form?
3.Tell me about the cousin of your city or town or
4. How your parents heal you using Colombian natural medicin (then you would ask about the use of Coca plant to calm the pain, for example, or the sabila plant to heal burnings or as a beauty routin for hair and skin moisturizer} etc, etc

Màs fe, màs abrazos, màs besos, màs disculpas, màs visitas a nuestros amigos antiguos nos haràn màs plenos cada vez.
