Crossing from Colombia To venezuela

Hey ppl... I was wandering if any of you got to cross the colombia - venezuela border lately... I've heard bad thing about the towns around that area so if anyone can advice me about going by bus, or flying into venezuela , or not at all and staying in colombia, which is the best option, please make yourself heard

My family does it... From B/quilla to Maracaibo...

With that said...I would never ever make that journey.

Listen to Uncle Gator...fly baby fly!

Personally I'd stay in Colombia, but I prefer Colombia over Venezuela. As for your question.. I know quite a few as well that frequent the trip from Barranquilla to Maracaibo, they are Colombian though. My only advice would be to not do it around the holidays or on a puente weekend... not sure why but for some reaosn they say thats when its more dangerous. ???

If you are going to do it, and you are leaving from Barranquilla I'd probably catch the bus early.. I.e. 5am so you don't have to worry so much about traveling after it gets dark.
