Costs of Servientrega

I am currently in Bogota and having a friend go through Servientrega in Miami to send me some things. I have read the instructions on this site and all seems very clear and easy.
I just have one question on the price: It has been written that for 1-7 lbs there is a flat rate of $15.00 and for more than 7 pounds it is $1.80 per pound. Does that mean for a 15 pound box that I pay $1.80 times 15 pounds or do I pay the $15.00 plus $1.80 for every pound over 7 pounds. Just not sure how to interpret that?
Thanks for the help!

Lisa Anything over the 7 lbs converts to the per pound rate.
You pay $1.80 per lb for the total 15 lb= $27.
Don't forget your 28% tax.
Let us know how it looks when it gets there.

I have a great suggestion Why don't you just call their office and ask them. I am 100% certain that their offices have a telephone.

At the same time, at the end of the day, you are going to end up with multiple opinions from this forum, of which quite obviously, a majority of which are providing you inaccurate information and only ONE of which is correct.

So what do you think of my creative advice?

Since it is Sunday I doubt they are open. I could call them, but I happen to be at work all day during the week and that makes things hard. I wanted a general idea of what I would need to pay and this gave me one. If the figures are not exact, so be it!

Mr. Tinto, I aspire to be precise How many times have people come back here and made posts indicating how, to their detriment, they had relied on "people" to provide them with advice on a given matter. Given the fact that the form of advice that Lisa is seeking involves $$, I think it is more imperative that she gets accurate advice and no better place to get accurate advice than from, as they say, "the horses mouth."

Lisa says she happens to be at work during the week and therefore "that makes things hard." As hard as it may be, it is nevertheless reliable and will therefore give her an accurate (not an idea) method of calculating her actual costs. While it may be hard for her, I am certain it is not impossible. Everyone gets a break/lunch or, since these places ussually open very early and remain open quite late, there is time before or after work to inquire.

However, the above being said, both Maureen and especially yourself, tend to be very accurate sources that provide reliable information about matters of this nature. Therefore, my suggestion to her at this point is that she take your information seriously in that there is a high probabilty of it being accurate. However, if you come back about 8 hours from now, she might and in fact probably will recieve contradictory information. At that point, she will be right back where she started from, and will have learned nothing.

So, my final advise, Lisa, take the calculations that Tinto and Maureen gave you as the gospel, and leave it at that. Or of course......you can call Servientrega, just to be 100% sure.

Indeed.

Good Lord! Don't take anything I say as gospel!! I guess I need to put a disclaimer after a post.
To the best of my knowledge the above is correct (as of last Monday), but it is always best to call. Everyone's circumstances will be a little different.
And no, they are not open on weekends. I have to call tomorrow so I will ask their hours of operation and post them.
Maureen

PS to Lisa
Since I am calling tomorrow, if you have a specific question you would like me to ask for you, PM me and I will be glad to find out and PM you back.

G5 You do realise that PBH is not much differant to company offices, you can call them and get several differant answers.

I am bringing extra baggage with me and have recieved three differant quotes that I am going to be charged from the same airline (US airline), flying the same route, they are all within 25% of each other, so that will have to do I suppose, it will interesting what I pay next week.

Determination of "trivial" is in the eyes of the Beholder Also the questions might contain information about the nature of the items. THEN we could comment how more/less money the item can be purchased in Colombia, where to buy it, how to pack, prior experiences, factual comments, ATM procedures / cautions, safety, personal preferences and other uses for the item. Possibably a short donkey experience and to add “flavor” to the post, more information about chickens as they relate to daily life.

Example:
Your friend will really appreciate it if you include a rechargeable batteries with the dildo. You can buy them REALLY cheap at K-Mart, charger included,, just yesterday I was ripped off by NOT ONLY THE TAXI but an unscrupulous vendor selling used equipment for more money than upscale stores in New York City. They got me this once and my girlfriend said they would, BUT THIS DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT. My better judgment was the ONLY thing between his ass and my foot,, the nerve of these people.

(further posts will indicated the taxi overcharged 1,000 pesos and the item didn’t include a box.)

Gospel......ja ja. That was not meant to be taken literally. Don't ya think??

And, I, nor anyone else that I know of even suggested that they were open on weekends. I did say that they tend to have long hours during the week however.

Finally, this seems to be a repeat of a thread from the end of May. Same members too....The prices could not have changed that much.

Also, Servientrega has a web site, albeit, not a very user friendly one even if you understand Spanish. It's full of superfulous info.

Hunter....... I will agree Inasmuch as PBH tends to give you contradictory info, I don't think the corperate world is quite as bad. Although, I know the problem is much more prevalent in Latin American than it is in the States. I don't seem to understand why this is the case. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that in the states, questions of this nature are almost always answered with computer assistance in the states and in Latin American, they often still flip through pages or consult charts on a piece of paper...who knows?

Comes to Mind Reading my post reminded me. Ebay stopped selling “head” attachments for Sonicare Branded Electric Tooth Brushes. Last year they had a variety pack with an assortment of sizes, shapes and textures. The cordless charging stand (magic?), waterproof housing, timer function and automatic cutoff make this enhancement an ideal companion for the traveler or a present for that special someone who needs to know you spare NO COST to assure your gifts are not only practical but entertaining.

EXPENSIVE but you get a multi use appliance.

Don’t take this wrong, this is not a replacement for bareback riding, Jacuzzi jets, or the Finger Massagers.

However,, it is a giant leap in for those travelers needing to continually call themselves on the cell phone while in vibrate mode. Cell time is EXPENSIVE in Colombia and you will NEVER again run out of minutes during a “critical” call.

While not approved by Sonicare the potential for accidents seems small. There may be some who prefer use the attachment in conjunction with the brush to strengthen their jaw muscles.

It is NOT advisable to smuggle these in Colombia and be subjected to a cavity search, which,, another poster indicated may be on the rise.

Has anyone seen these? Where can I get them? A link is required.
PS: For the Elite model.
