COPA AIR STARTING UP FLIGHTS FROM MCO??

I have seen this advertised in the Sun-Sentinel the last 2 days and wanted to ask if anyone knew if this is another new route to Colombia thru PTY of course?

Might help those in central FL. Fare was $288* whatever that means RT to PTY, of course some more to CO.

I thought Copa had a flight from Orlando to Panama for awhile already. . . just checked their website and it looks like they now have 2 flights a day, not 100% sure on this but it seems like they added a frequency recently.

$288 looks like a pretty good price but once you add taxes, it's just mediocre.

You will use Aero Republica out of Panama City

What I need is some competition on the Cartagena Miami Route. I am stuck with Avianca's high fares.

Copa and Aero República both fly to various Colombian cities out of Panamá.

I see a Copa promo for MIA-CTG, via PTY for USD 530.30 (6 - 13 May).

They include airport departure, as well as other taxes & fees in the ticket, and taxes/fees are almost as much as the fare:

Fare:USD 295.00 Taxes: USD 220.09 Total: USD 515.09

I think I chose a different return, the second time I looked, via Bogotá & Panamá, but it's a few pennies cheaper.

How does that compare with Avianca?
