COP: Where will it end?!

I know it has been already discussed, but when do you reckon it will end? This is becoming eerie!

no idea how the cop can sustain this level, with an shortfall in excess of 7 bn in exports due to the nice nieghbour, decreasing prices in gas and oil,and over 12bn in unrecoverable debt from chaves regime something dont smell right

still booming in my view.. i see construction everywhere...I would not mind see a drop in real estate since i am considering buying...but other than that i really don't spend much money on other things here other than rent...It has moved for me but has not dented me enough to notice it...As long as the messiah is running the USA the dollar will weaken as he just thinks you can print money

Has anybody been to Argentina by any chance? Just a simple quick question.. The Dollar is almost 4-1 against the Argetine peso.

How much is a beer in a bar? the Store?
How much is a fast food meal in the mall? on the street?
How much is a coke?
How much is a dinner in a restaurant, steak?

Thanks for everything!

This was certainly the case when I was in Argentina about a year and a half ago. I really liked Argentina and felt it to be a great bargain when comparing it to Colombian prices for similar items and that was when the dollar was only 3-1, now its almost 4 to 1. I'm not really sure about real estate prices but everyday items like fast food, beer, restaurants, etc. were noticeably cheaper. I also found the food to be better and the overall infrastructure to be far superior to anything in Colombia. Buenos Aires is an incredible city and reminds me a lot of Prague.

Is this situation exacerbated by the fact that Colombian interest rates are so much higher than those in the UK, Eurozone, Japan and the US? I am no economist but that may strongly influence things too?

Thanks makopp5.
I feel blessed not to be an economist because I just proved just how clueless I would be! LOL. Each to their own.

No more Colombia for me till the peso drops. I even have to cut back in sending my novia some money. Its not a lot and she is quite poor so it really helps.

Dollar and Pound are the two worst hit by the banking meltdown.

Only place with cheap currency is Mexico (linked to Dollar economy). Other developing countries currencies keep getting stronger as money is moved there rather than Dollar. Latin America: Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Paraguay, Nicaragua, Boliva etc etc all been strengthening for several years, since about 2004/05 for some of them.

Question is where will it end for all of them?

Who can see it going any other way? Brazilian Real, from 6 to 1 pound in 2003, to 2.8 today.

US/UK/Europe on par with Brazil, India, China etc, with a rich elite and the rest working with chiclets?

"Question is where will it end...?"

With Brazil, Colombia etc with all the same prices as England, France etc???

No more cheap anything in those countries which reach the same standard and prices as the West.
