Continental service to Cali is no more.

Here's the link:

I have the feeling that the recent talk of expansion of service to Colombia was much ado about nothing.

After New Year, I've flown twice to Bogota, 4 flights total. Only one of them was completely full while one was about half full and the remaining two were probably about two thirds full.

I am disappointed-- I hoped that it would become possible to go to Colombia for cheaper and more conveniently. Alas, reality is clearly different.

Yep, that really sucks. That was an enjoyable flight.... Hston to Cali.
I guess they're leaving the Hston to Bogota intact.
Or, now... forever the 7 hour layover in Miami for me.

Oh!... Maybe I don't need to go anymore.

What are you paying at the pump for gas? Your flight from Miami to Bogota may have 2500 gallons of jet A kerosene now at $3.20 a gallon. The fill it up with 2500 more gallons for the return flight to Miami This is not the 15 or 20 gallons you put in your car. The Airlines are paying like 3 times what they did just a year or two ago. So they will cut service and charge for a soda. Nobody likes it but you will get used to it!

Oil? They tell us that China and India are using more and more so DEMAND is higher than ever. If so, why did US and European multi national companies INVEST in China (Communist China and Washington will not let me go to Communist Cuba????) and India? To make a quick buck off of cheap labor and to avoid environmental laws. That is why! So, now China's people can buy a car and YOU in the west pay more and you will get a small 4 cylinder car and no more SUV. Get it?

Don't just blame Bush! Blame the CEO's who have decided to send American wealth over there called INVESTMENT instead of investing here in the US. Bill Gates and his Microsoft invest $$2BN in India and he wants more IT workers from India into the US.

But, $6 a gallon gas means more windmills and solar and maybe some new little Bill Gates will finally get us vehicles that don't use oil? Electric. Hydrogen. Sugar cane fuel like in Brazil....etc

Hola!

From Philly, I have flown almost always any where but from PHL to Colombia and I live within eye sight of the PHL control tower! I fly from JFK usually and have flown from Newark a couple of times. Flying from PHL means to me to go to MIA at night and then take the AM flight from there to Cali. Never have I even considered going through Texas to Cali!

With fuel as high as it is, look for more airline route cuts and less flights on the remaining routes. And much higher fares... industry "experts" are predicing airfares to double or even triple across the board over the next few years.

Better buy stock in Greyhound, 'cause thats how we'll all be travelling soon.
