Contacting rep or senator (K1/USCIS)

FYI, thought I'd share this...

My K1 was seeming lost/stuck, not having been touched at CSC since it's receipt date (NOA1) of May/19... while I watched other applicants with near identical cirumstances (no past marriages, no kids, same country of beneficiary...) submit well past my date and already obtain approval.

A little over a week ago, even though their 'posted processing date' had not yet reached +30 days beyond my May/19 date, I called and they agreed to look into it (formally?) taking a ton of my and my fiancee's info (e.g. DOB, etc.). Then a few days later I contacted the offices of my rep and a senator, completing their constent paperwork and my story.

A day after my rep's office sent they coorespondence my K1 petition was approved. Coincidence? I don't know...

flaleo I did the same thing when I could not find out where my K-1 application went after sending it to Texas. Congressman Bartin contacted the proper people and I found out that the applications were being sent to California and that it could be possible that Texas will no longer handle K-1's. I do not know if they still do but His office helped. My friend contacted his congressman in Pa. and it did not do anything at all to help him. Coincidence? Who knows for sure. I hope you have your interview date of received your fiance's visa by now.

flaleo I am sorry. I did not follow your progress that close.Yes it takes at least two weeks for USCIS. NVC does not take that long. For me it was one week only. It was then sent to Bogota and she got packet 3 withing one week and it was back to the Embassy before the 9th of July. Faxed and then mailed. We had our interview on the 29th of July. It took exactly three months from the day I sent the I129F forms to the day of the Interview. Remember I told you I may have done to much but I notarized everything. There was not one form, paper, photo, or document that I did not notarize when it was sent to USCIS. Did it make a difference?? I don't know but it went very smooth. I called the USCIS office here and they told me exactly how to put the paperwork togather and that was what I did. they even told me to write the names and dates on the back of all photos but use a felt tip pen so as not to leave a mark on the photo. I did that also. Please do not take all that I say as fact it is just that my process went perfect and that is all I can go by. You need to do what makes you feel good.
