COMPATRIOTAS EN VEN. ECUADOR Y NICARAGUA?

I'm curious to know if there are any fellow colombians living in either Venezuela, Ecuador or Nicaragua or on all three countries and are you members of PBH?. I'd like to read your comments on what the local citizens say in those countries regarding the political situation.

I'm from a town that is 5 minutes driving from Venezuela and well, there Colombia and Venezuela are almost the same country. I mean all cars have venezuelan plates, we buy cheap gas there hehe, but lately, what I have seen (I don't go there so often) is that venezuelan cops are becoming a little bit rude with colombian people. And they are getting a lot of Cuban cops.....

But hey, 1 dollar for filling up a car in a gas station makes people from my hometown deal with it hehe. :D

I personally don't like to go there.

My g/f recently had a man from Venezuela rent her apartment in Bogota. He was very apologetic saying that he does have the same opinion about Colombia as his president. He went to tell her that the people of Venezuela like Colombia. I remember talking to many Cubans about the United States. Everyone I asked said they like Americans and it was the politics they did not like. I am "somewhat" surprised that Cuban troops would be helping out too. I wonder if they have some good Cuban cigars for sale..?? Just asking lol.

Here in Miami we have many Cubans and Venezuelans but we take what they say with a Grain of Salt. These Cubans and Venezuelans Tucked Tail like Yellow Dogs and Ran from the fight to Miami. Lot of Venezuelan Millionaires living out on Key Biscayne so they criticize conditions in Caracas from the Luxury of their Waterfront Condos. Patriots??? I don't think so! Instead of staying and fighting to improve their Country, they elected to Run to some 3rd country. What can they change from Miami? Why not stay and fight? Take the Fight to Chavez's Doorstep like those Young Venezuelan College students did a few months back when they defeated Chavez's Amendment. Many Old Exiled Cubans here in Miami never tried to assimilate and learn our customs, many cannot speak a word of English. They are something else,,,

Do you have German heritage, Mike? In English, it's only proper nouns that are capitalised , not normal ones.

SiV--Sorry, I skipped that part of my Grammar instruction, I was Szzzzzzing that day I guess,,,LOL,,,probably capitalized for Emphasis

Monpirri--I hope so. I know the Young Venezuelans in the Universities and also those in Cuba are the Salvation of their respective countries. They are up front leading the Charge! The Adults; where were they when it came time to protest and stand up to Chavez and Castro?? IMO, the ones who left their countries have NO voice in any change, present or future.

I pass no judgement on those who fled Venezuela. I also respect immensely those who have stayed, and who are trying to fight and resist the growing Communist / totalitarian system that is growing by the day in Venezuela. For those that judge rich Venezuelans badly, for fleeing to the US and other countries; I simply ask that you be consistant and give the same scrutiny to US ex-pats who leave to have a better life, preserve wealth, in a 3rd world country. Maybe they should have plotted to assasinate somebody instead of leaving?

RJ----I only pass judgement on the Loud Vocals ones here who criticize without offering a solution. Amazing they didn't do so in their own country when the opportunity was close at hand. . When was the last time you observed Ex Pat Americans Vocalizng in the streets about about Political Conditions in their host countries? When is the last time you saw a Group of Expat Americans marching in Bogota complaining or better yet Guadalajara, Mexico the expat mecca of latin America? On the Vocal Cubans here in Miami, for decades they attempted to draw the US Military into a fight for their Homeland, into a Fight they wouldn't fight themselves. Had they stood up and fought Castro in the late 50s-early 60s, they would have their country, freedom and way of life, Instead since the 60s, 1,500,000(approx) left instead of fighting. We all know Fast boats travel to and from Cuba practically daily for Alien Smuggling, why couldn't these rich miami cubans have loaded these boats with Guns, ammo, explosives for an uprising to oust Castro and take their Island&freedom back? Because its easier to leave then fight so they have NO one to blame but themselves then they come to Miami and complain the Loudest.. Sorry, no sympathy for those who leave rather then stay fight.American Boys are not going to spill their Blood for Cuba,,,They also do NOT refer to themseles as Americans, as they say, we are Cubans first,,,
