Coming to Colombia

I'm flying into Colombia for a month starting on the 16th. I'm hitting up a hostel for a day or two, then I don't really have any plans. I know I want to hit up Carnival, but what are the dates? Any ideas of where I should go, or what I should do throughout my stay. I'm 23, athletic, and always up for something crazy and fun. Looking to also meet some people who are like myself to kick it with here and there.

Some events will start January 18 and it will end on Tuesday February 5. Ash Wednesday is very early this year. "Best events will be Feb 2, Batalla de flores, Feb 3, Gran parada, Feb 4, Gran parada de fantasia and the Festival de Orquestas. Good luck on finding a place to stay because the city will be jammed, but a wild time.
