Colombia's pacific

hey there good ppl - travellers and colombianos
Ummm... I've been to the Carrib. coast a couple of times in my life already, but never to the pacific - I was wandering if anyone can recommend on good places to hang out - surf, swif, relax along the pacific coast + any other nice things to do around there - thanx

not entirely true, gringo There are beautiful, desolate beaches on the Pacific, albeit no white sand, but different shades of grey and brown. Bahía Solano may well be worth a visit, there's a decent hotel there and you can watch the whales and surf. Not much nighlife, I suppose. The ecolodges at Nuquí in Chocó are another good alternative for a Colombian pacific holiday, Mr. Salmon has lovely pics from his stay there. You can also take a boat from Buenaventura to nearby beaches in Juanchaco and Ladrilleros; they are somewhat rustic but the surf is rumoured to be good.

Cheers,
Desi
