Colombia es Pasión, a campaign designed to attract tourism to Colombia, announced Tuesday the results of a national survey to determine destinations of national pride in Colombia.
The survey, conducted over 24 days over the internet, asked Colombians to choose the seven most desirable destinations to visit in colombia. The places chosen were: Bucaramanga, Manizales, Santa Marta, San Andrés, Medellín, Cartagena and Armenia.
The results of the survey will be used in an international advertising campaign, directed primarily at the U.S, in the second half of 2009 to promote tourism in Colombia.
Beer label Club Colombia is running a competition in conjunction with Colombia es Pasión, in which 100 winners will win a four day trip to one of the seven destinations.

Mononoke28 says on May 1, 2009, 12:58: I'm kind of surprised that Bogotá is not on the list. But then again, most Colombians don't like the chaos and weather of the capital. Diana 0 funny, 2 helpful. |

ColombianoGringo (Moderator) (Trustee board) (☼Travelguide writer) says on May 1, 2009, 16:17: It' s just a nice, laid back place with nice beaches and nice people. The vibe is very different from Cartagena which I really don't like. I'm so hip, I have difficulty seeing over my pelvis. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Atrevido (☼Travelguide writer) says on May 1, 2009, 16:18: Buenaventura is not so bad. If you walk along the "malecón", the street that runs along the bay beginning at the tourist wharf it is lined with seafood restaurants, bars and some nice hotels. Don´t forget this is Colombia´s major port and there are a lot of foreigners there for business. Anyway I´m surprised there aren´t some divisions for desired destinations. I mean you you wouldn´t go to Manizales for the same reasons you´d go to Isla San Andres. https://sites.google.com/site/colombianaturesite/nature-images 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Papi de Alejo says on May 2, 2009, 04:56: I have been to all except Bucaramanga and Armenia. I enjoyed San Andres very much but Santa Marta is more like home than any of the others. Cartagena is hit or miss; Manizales is cold and I have to give Medellin another chance. I was too preoccupied with other issues when I was there to really enjoy it. But I enjoyed it enough to want to go again. Live simply... Love generously... Care deeply... Speak kindly... 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

quantum says on May 3, 2009, 16:45: I thought San Andres was flat and over commercialized (so ive heard and read) but it sure looks attractive. Beaches immaculate and water cristalina. How about the other island close by, supposedly more hilly and green and less touristy. Como se llama? quantum 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
