Colombians teaching english in Colombia

I have noticed a lot of threads concerning the teaching route in Colombia, but most of these address the foreigner coming to Colombia.....I am a Colombian citizen who has lived in London for over 20 years and have just dropped out of uni (long story) I was doing English literature with Philosophy but my aim was to finish the bleeding degree and do a TEFL. This would give me the flexibility to take English teaching jobs in other countries...I was thinking of spending some time in France, Thailand and India before going back for good to Colombia.
I have deduced that it really shouldn't be that hard for me to get a GOOD teaching post in Colombia....I don't have the diplomas that say I can teach English but give me a telephone and the person on the other line would think he's speaking with the Queen's butler...Reading skills-check, writing skills-check, verbal skills-check spelling-check, pronunciation-double check, I also happen to be a native spanish speaker(plus i might get bonus points for speaking English from the UK not American english).
My point is could I just say stuff this London malarkey and just go home, get a decent teaching post and grow old where I belong......i don't want the best salary....anything over a million pesos would do me
I would appreciate any feedback, especially from Colombians that have gone back to teach

hell yeah i don't have any qualifications and make a decent living here... i've never lived abroad and have been able to land teaching gigs for 4 years in a row... people here get easily impressed if you tell them you lived abroad ( no matter if it was in spiggot,iowa...no mean to offend) so for sure you'll do just fine...

just curious carolain....for someone that has never lived abroad and does not have any qualifications you sure know how to write in English.....how did you learn??
My excuse is that I've spent most of my life in London.....what's yours?

thanks i appreciate your comments... well, i guess i'm a very smart girl and learn fast... but for real i think it was the fact that i studied in the german school and started learning german at the age of 7, and english at 10, so once you learn german english is a piece of cake, and perhaps I'm a very smart girl and learn fast (for real)... so let me know when you're coming and i can hook you up with either one of my two employers, that is, if you're coming to bogota... hey! we could even hang out....

you certainly seem like a fast learner, so....Spanish, English and Deutsch....I am impressed.
Thanks for the hook up - I might take that offer up in the not-too-distant future (for real :-p)

Queen's English I'm interested to hear if Colombian's think speaking British English is a + or a -. My sense is that most Colombians want to speak American English though, on the other hand, the British Council is considered one of the best English programs in Bogota.
