Colombians in the USA

I don’t know if any one here has already seen this but this woman is a typical paisa: beautiful, sexy, and funny.

I agree wholeheartedly with her about Colombians in the USA.

Colombian women is the USA are so disappointing, so different from the ones you meet in Colombia.

That's because they become "Americanized" after a while, but not all.

Douglas, I didn't get that she was fault finding, just that differences among Colombians from various regions of the Colombia are petty. Colombians in the USA really don't care much about those petty differences. It suffices that one is Colombian.

MitchAlvarez says on Jul 9, 2008, 06:12:

actually what she states is factual:

1. There is a huge rivalry between paisas and rolos in Colombia. Some attribute it to the fact that Medellin is the industrial capital of Colombia and financially the Department of Antionquia many believe can sustain itself on its own with government funding. Antioquia at some point wanted to be an independant country. Some attribute it to the fact that Paisas are very "Regionalistas" we have so much love for our land and people that sometimes we are misread as being cocky. There is a list of reasons why I think maybe this rivalry persists in Colombia between paisas and rolos.

2.Paisas are cuenteros, habladores, exagerados, etc For example the following banner can tell you about how we are jajaja :)

3. As colombians we love to meet other colombians from where ever they are.

4. Los colombianos do all share the same struggle. Trying to overcome the stigma we have and ensure that we succeed and take care of our people back home in an honest way.

Inaccurate statements:

1. All colombians in America do not dance the same. We might eat the same food but certainly not dance and listen to the same music.

2. there are some minor rivalries in America. In NYC in particular there exists a lot of rivalry between Paisas from Medellin and Vallunos from Cali. Especially amongst young men between the ages of 15 to 35.

billyb im not sure what you mean by bettys. if your refering to all the woman im sorry to tell you that your are incorrect.

in fact caleños are known mostly in my area for being the party guys who all they do is dance. They are good at dancing salsa all night and finding/hustling ways to be able to maintain their party lifestyle.

paisas on the other hand are know to be negociantes, berracos, and the sweet talkers to all the ladies.

there is a big rivalary i wont try to dismiss it.

both brag about which city has better looking women and who has the better soccer team and a bunch of other shit.

Elmo, costenos blend in easier than Colombians from the interior. After all, they are caribenos too.

The other day, I met a Dominican who said he loves listening to vallenato.

They almost always confuse me for either puerto rican or dominican, its all good in my book, I dont mind it at all, what does bother me are the closed minded individuals. There is a certain level of "regionalism" here between cubans, puerto rican and dominicans and the 27 costeños that live here, some havent neccesarrily welcomed me with open arms but I havent lost any sleep over it.

That's because we lose our hoochie gene the moment we land. And that's a good thing.

As for the girl in the video, very pretty but blah, blah, blah, blah... oh my gosh... my head was spinning after 10 seconds. Sounded like my mom everytime she gave a hard time. Gee... weeez!
