PBH / colombia (travelguide, pictures) / post |
Well this is my first post so i hope its gets some response. I am from Miami, and i have done a lot of work for the government/military in Colombia, where i met my girlfriend, Adriana. My job takes me all over the world but mostly in Latin American, however, now i find myself in London for three months. After two several pain-staking attempts i finally got Adriana a visa to visit me in the United Kingdom. This will be her first visit to another country outside of Colombia. She doesnt speak English at all and so im looking for some friends for her while i work during the day to maybe show her around. Also would like to get the scoop on clubs, things to do on weekends, salsa music, colombian food...
So...if you know anyone in London from Colombia or you can give us some pointers while visiting here, please write back, thanks....and by the way i really loved Colombia, its such a beautiful country and great people....

This will give you access to three Spanish DVDs for two weeks free of charge, you can of course keep on borrowing. They have telenovelas and films, also videos. They also have free newspapers for the Lain Americans eg Noticias and ExpressNews which have adverts for restaurants and concerts.

Embrace London culture, one huge mix.Again it depends what your into but there are some of worlds finest restaurants, (La Caprice , behind the Ritz ),nightclubs (Ministry of Sound), shopping (Bond Street for clothes ), culture ( Tate Modern & the theatres) and history ( a full list in Time out), you can not get bored. However I would try and arrange time off , or take a sickie or go awol as being on your own in London and not speaking English will be a bit daunting.Hang out in Knightsbridge and Chelsea to some nice chicas ( some will put the Cali chicas to shame).Hire a car and view the countryside if you want a change of scene.

And as for the happy slapping craze …. And some think Colombia is dangerous…..
