I was in Mexico, rented a car and drove all over the Yucatan peninsula, something you cant do in Colombia, and let me tell you, we Colombians wish we had something nearly as beautiful as that. I look like a freaking Mexican, does it bother me, NO! I‘ll be real pissed off if you confused me with an Argentinean or Uruguayan etc, then you got a fight on your hands. I love the crap outta Mexican food, I love mariachi music and specially love tequila. As for their women, I prefer those white Mexican women, (novela type) I’m not too crazy about the Indians. I had the best time in my life, outside NYC and Curramba, in a little place called Playa del Carmen, not too far from Cancun, and Cozumel and I still need to visit Acapulco, Cabo San Lucas, Juarez , Mexico City and many other great Mexican cities.

Albatross is wrong Felipe A,

Your are not an idiot, you are a racist a** hole. I am a standard vanilla gringo from Colorado. Mexicans are wonderful people with a great culture and heritage. We in America owe them much.

Colombianos are equally as wonderful as my wife and I will tell you.

Remember tow things my sad little hombre:

1) There is only one race...the human race

2) There is only one country and humankind are its citizens.

It is not life that matters, but the journey.

I’ve been all over Colombia; I even visited cachaco territories, Bogotá, Medellin, not Cali. I know Colombia from Monteria all the way up to the northern tip. I rode my donkey up and down and I think I know a little about Colombia. The closest I could compare with Mexican natural beauty are beaches along la guajira, but these places are undeveloped.
I’m one of those dark Mexican looking Indians, but small I’m not. I walked around Bogotá and Medellin and towered over those little yellow 3 piece suit cachaquitos.

Felipe "A" ---- Are you trolling here? A member of 23 hours?? Indeed you are "A" something. How unfortunate that you have decided to come to this site to portray a naionality in a negative light.

I think you have already been leveled with sentiments that obviously take issue with your assessment of the beautiful Republic of Mexico.

If you stick around, I have a feeling you will see much more of the same, set forth in ways that I would not do, but none the less are probably accurate.

Lastly, after you are given what you deserve, you might want to find another site to troll in

pobre ignorante As a Mexican who loves Colombia your comment really hurts. I am a Mexican who gets offended of the the customs treats me when i get back to the states from colombia, they want to know everything including what i ate, and yet when i come back from mexico i get waved by. Why do you think that is , because of the bad image they have of colombia, little do they know of what a wonderful country you have. I also get upset when My mexican fellowmen speak bad of colombia, i feel i owe to my friends from Bogota,Cali, Pereira, and Bucaramanga, because I know they will do the same for me. I beleive you need a schooling on society as a whole and immigration patterns.
1. There are 36 million hispanics and over 70% of them are of mexican descent. So what do you think, to all gringos we are all Mexican. Back in the 70's when I was in HIgh School, and most of my classmates were black, do you know what they used to call me, JULIO, and puerto rican. That is because there was a show called Sanford and son, and one of their neighbors was a puerto rican named julio, so they assumed that all hispanics were puerto rican.
Do you actually thingk a gringo knows the difference between Colombian spanish and Mexican Spanish. They don't, teach them but without thrashing mexicans or feeling superior, you will only look bad.
2, Mexicans are ignorant, uneducated, I would say that yes there are a lot of them but there are also a lot of educated ones. Do you know who is the first group of people to immigrate from one country, the middle class and upper middle class. The first group of people to immigrate to the us from mexico were the rich during the mexican civil war, later were the educated middle class, among them my grandfather and father, and yes after the community had been established, the poor and unedacated followed, why becasue it became easier . Easier to get a job, an appartemnt etc. Do you honestly think that if Colombian was next to the US, the same think would not happen, I mean there would be a lot more of the poor uneducated colombians, just hop the border nad you are in. But they are not, BECAUSE THEY CAN'T AFFORD IT .
I am currently helping a friend who is a single mom come to the us with her two kids. She can barely make ends meet on a poor paying govenrment job, and she would never be able to afford to come to the us. She was lucky she got a visa, so now me and my mexican friends, are going to help her with, an apartment, a job and guide her to the city in so that she can provide for a better futture for her children. The next time you speak bad of mexicans, I am sure she will disagree with you.
ps. I go to colombia at least 7 times a year, and I hope never to meet a colombian like you, nor in queens, nor miami.

Joser----Good for you ! You really are a noble person. And, BTW, I am a Colombian American who goes to Mexico all the time. I adore your country and it's people. Guadalajara, Jalisco is really a great place to go, if people want to experience Mexican culture at it's best. Mariachi capital, great food. (I love pozole blanco), Plaza de Tapatia, y La Plaza de Armas....y por supuesto muchas muchachas hermosas con piernas largas!! -- Rubias naturales !!(Great looking women) for those don't understand Spanish. It just sounds better in Spanish!!

Anyway, I have also been to Michoacan, Aguascalientes, D.F., Leon, and Vera Cruz. I try to stay away form the tourist places..!

So you should know that Colombianos love your country too !!

Mexico and Colombia I can say if their is a country linked culturally to Colombia is Mexico, mariachis and rancheras are part of the Colombian culture as if they were ours. Same can be said about cumbias in Mexico and some friends from Yucatan told me that even the bambuco shared the roots with the traditional music from that part of Mexico.

You blasphemer, Juanalejo! How dare you suggest that there is any connection between those low Mexican dogs and the pure and noble Colombian race! As Felipe points out, those Mexicans speak Mexican whereas the Colombians speak the best Spanish in the world. Even the Spaniards are envious and they think that they invented Spanish. Blah, blah, blah......

on the other hand, I do get tired of the gringos' ignorance regarding Latin Americans. I don't mean to offend anyone, but that's a fact.

Of course ignorance occurs anywhere but I think Americans are especially isolated from the rest of the world because they've been taught that almost any foreign land it's a big dangerous shithole.

And I am not talking about American things, many things about the world as well. Colombians seem to live in some kind of South American cocoon down there - they remind me of Americans.

Colombian or Mexican Food?! Really, what food is better, the colombian or mexican? There's this colombian restaurant in NY; the ladies are dressed like "bunnies." I really go there to enjoy the environment & the comely charms of the waitresses dress sexy, I think it is very nice & the dishes are good. Now, what food is better, Colombian or Mexican or Peruvian?? A rather subjective question.

broad question what food is better? a truely subjective question ...

what food tastes better?
what food burns better a 2nd time?
what food gives a better diarrhea?
what food is better to make you fat?
what food food is better to kill the neighbor's dog?
what food is best for making a dutch oven?
what food is best to get laid?

Luckily we all have a different taste ....

Since I cook and eat anything at least once that doesn't run away faster than I can kill it, I will want to try these recipes one day. I don't think the fluffy ones here at Petsmart qualify as the wild ones. Or are they actually raised for food by farmers in Latin America, like the dogs and cats in China?

Lack of Culture Don't feel bad if others think you are someone you are not. I find that the majority of Americans cannot tell the differences between the Latin cultures. I am Puerto Rican and I get called a little bit of everything. I used to get mad like you, but I began to educate them on the differences. Most people are receptive. There is hardly any need for culture bashing. No one is better than the other, we are just different.
