Colombianos en cualquier parte del mundo

Many years ago, I heard that you could find at least 1 Colombian in any country on this earth. Funny enough I am in Riga, Latvia and perhaps I am the only Colombianita here. hahaha.

So where are the Colombians living around the earth? besides Colombia of course. US must be No. 1

This Colombian is in Czech Republic. There are quite a few others around here, there's even a colombian restaurant (http:\\www.donpedro.cz). Actually they serve Colombian and TexMex food, but hey! they gotta make a living.

What are you doing in Latvia for Christ sake??? I have a friend from Estonia who moved over here to Prague because he says the generally-shitty-and-right-now-sub-zero-celsius-weather is great when compared to the Baltic weather!

Oh No! I actually have been thinking of moving to Denver, but that is just a deal killer. Can you at least get Colombian food products in specialty stores?

Riga, I was there 2 years ago. Quite interesting people you lived with... Latvians never smile! Although I liked Riga-by-night

I was in Riga too, a year ago, just a day trip from Stockholm by boat. We spent the day just walking around, shopping a little (amber mostly). Baltic people have a special look, very narrow built, eyes kind of close to each other, sharp, fox-like noses, women all dressed to kill inthe middle of the day, much make-up, everybody had dyed hair and high heels.

It's in Prague, a block north from the Dancing Building (just follow the river). I thought having just one restaurant kinda sucked, but a couple of Colombian friends living in Denmark always insist on going there when they come. We may not have an embassy or a consulate in Czech Republic, but we can always have frisoles when we feel like it!

Thanks guys! hahaha... I was in Latvia working...
Yeah, to say the least Latvia was an interesting place. Obviously the Baltic weather was very very cold, people were stand-offish! I felt them very cold too. Nothing compared to the Colombian attitude! hahaha

Desideria - yes women all wore high heel boots, and mini skirts... through me off a little as I couldn't understand I was wearubg layers and layers of clothing.hahaha.

Well I did look around, but I did not find 1 Colombian restaurant...or a #2 Colombian there for that matter. It was only me...out there in Latvia without any Colombian to relate. hahaha
It was a nice experience, but I just couldnt take the cold weather.

Now I am back in CT..and don't know where I will be moving next with my company. I am planning for now to stay home and enjoy my home since I've been living out of a briefcase for too long now.

I just saw this. We do have several stores that sell Colombian products and actually one of the stores is co-owned by a Colombian from Cali, so no problem there. There is also a "Colombian Club" type of group that throws parties and bbqs and all that stuff every now and then. But as far as a Colombian restaurant... na-nay cucas.

Well that certainly makes a difference. Now the hard part is convincing an Opita from "tierra caliente" that the cold is not that bad. I can't wait to take her snow skiing for the very first time.

Yup it sure gets cold here. But my husband is from Tuluá and he said it was ok, there were maybe a couple of days when he thought it was too cold. He said as long as he had his jacket on he was fine.

jajjaja CG, it always cracks me up when Calenos refer to Neiva and Girardot as tierra caliente, as if Cali was the Seattle of Colombia.
