Talk about man bites dog. A colombian visits the USA and is appalled by the squalor he finds. See article:

Maybe he will tell all hes friends back in COL exactly how the other half lives in the ole USA...

I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

Washington state has a lot of squalor, rural slums and some parts of Seattle are awful as well-this is just a few hour's drive from where I live!

Has he never seen squalor in Colombia? I would reccomend Chinchina at 8 am on a Sunday morning. Looks like how the 9th ward in New Orleans did before Katrina.

This is like the fourth time this article has been posted.

Maybe send him to Ciudad Bolivar on the outskirts of Bogota for a few days.

Yes we have some real shit holes here also. One time I stayed in a hotel on South Beach that looked very nice from the outside but a complete roach motel in the dark. Had to check out after 2 nights, couldn't sleep well so many cockaroaches!

Was it on the ass end of collins? Like the rooms sorrounding the pool and there were little futons and couches all round the pool?

If it was I stayed there too. Had to pay a deposit for the key.

My girlfriend took a magazine and ripped its pages out to make paths around the room to walk on the floors were so dirty.

Scranton, PA ... Greenwich, Ct.....what's the diff?

So typical this. We got an exchange student from Spain, hardly spoke a word of English- go figure. Anyway, he'd already been thru 2 other nightmare homes, cold and hungry, before he stayed with us. Now he's a plastic surgeon .... I only have sympathy for these poor waifs.
