Colombian work visa

Does anybody know how to go about getting a visa to work in Colombia? I work as a professional musician up here and don't have any education past my high school. Does the music thing count for anything? Do I have to find work first and THEN get the visa? How long is the waiting period etc etc etc?

Not knowing.... where "up here" is, your best bet is to start inquiring at a Colombian consulate.

Unless you want to go back to Canada (not likely seeing your posts) you should be careful how long you stay out of the US at any one time.

You can stay out for up to a year with a green card w/o problems. But if you want to apply for citizenship you can't be out for more than 6 months at a time within 5 years.

I have young kids here anyways so I'd be back several times a year no matter what.
