colombian "time-warp"

I was wondering if any others have experienced this colombia "time warp".

(true story)I was walking and scopin' with my colombian friend in a mall there and we began talking to a couple of girls who were approx. 30 years old, beauties (they were just about my age 35, and perfect). After 5 min. of talking, a gaggle of 18-20 year old girls walked by. The girls were staring and walked up near a store and began looking in the window, then took some seats at an outside bar approx. 30 feet away.

We kept talking to the 30 yo beauties for a few minutes and my friend pulled me away saying, let's go talk to these others. Finally, we left and went to the outside bar.

Well, we pulled up to the table next to the 18 yo hotties and began talking. After some beers (several) all was loose and the subject of these older women came up with the young hotties. They flat-out told us they were too old for us and asked us to look around.

So, by this time a couple of hours had gone by and the bar was full. And they were right, i saw three colombian men 50 yo, with 25-30 year old women and one colombian man (probably mid 40's) with what looked like a 18 yo or less actually.

During that trip, i continued to look out for this "time warp" and it appeared over and over. So, I know the whole gringo looking for the trophy thing.....but, is this normal in the col. culture? Is this time warp the norm (15-20plus year age differences)?

And I'm asking about strictly colombian-colombian relations?

Thanks for any imput.

Its almost at an epidemic stage! the number of attention-starved gringos who visit Colombia for the first few times, then act like a kid in a candy shop for the first time with their eyes WIDE open! you guys need to get out more often....theres a big world out there, Dorothy!!!! jajajaja...

Just my opinion...

Your not crazy This does seem to be the case quite often.

Although DG is somewhat right, I know several girls from Rosales, El Nogal etc that are from very wealthy families and still go out with substantially older men. Maybe they are not as extreme as some other examples, but the age differences are still 10-15 years.

My GF is 30 which I think is a good age for me as I am 37. I did briefly date younger girls including one who is 24, but I soon realized shew was too young for me. She was from the Country area near Unicentro so also from a relatively upper class family.

These are all Colombian/Colombian relationships. I am gringo by birth, but Colombian by genetics and upbringing.

Is'nt it great? You can even talk to school girls with those short skirts without getting arrested. Quite a few times, they have tried to get my attention by yelling out of the school bus. I'm talking about 16 year old girls here. I'm in my 30s. That does'nt happen to me in the U.S.

Actually, guys get away with a lot of shit in the U.S. A few months ago a guy "whipped it out" in front of a couple of teenage girls. He only got probation. So I guess its safe to conclude that a little friendly conversation shouldnt be a problem.

I'm 85 years old and I've been porking those young forty year old babes for years. Well, they're young to me.

yeah, 40 year old colombiana is the exact point where they are 10 years "over the hill" and not dating material anymore in colombia. (just kidding)

Yeah, it's rough doing these old broads, Monica Belluci (42), Salma Hayek (40), Nicole Kidman (39)...but somebody's gotta do it.
