If I was to support someone in Colombia, are they subject to an income tax? This may be short term or long term. I understand when I send money via Western Union, they deduct a 'tax' at payout. It is not much but it is a tax nonetheless. If the party was to set up a bank account and money is wire transferred...what taxes would be levied if any?
Appreciate any comments on this.
Thanks

aztec says on Aug 20, 2006, 05:38: Well, we simply ... ...get the Bank Card in my wife's name and then give the card to her sister. You can restrict the amount of funds. For example many banks will issue a card for limited amounts. So far there has been no problems.
