Colombian stock market

I was reading that the Colombian stock market has gone up 900% since 2001. anyone with a crystal ball in 2001 would have done very very well. Lately I see the peso is dropping some, in respect to the dollar. anybody have any thoughts on investing in the Colombian stock market now? In the US, we can only do that through mutual funds focusing on Colombia.

I stand corrected Ray, so what do you think the percentage rise of loss will be over the next 2 to 3 years, and why?

And, a follow up question is then... WHAT VEHICLE? what mutual fund or index is available (by name, please) for investing in Colombia, when you live here in the usa?

I think individual company investment is better than the index.

Several years ago I was looking at cell phone companies. Movistar was signing up a lot of people but Comcel was the number 1 provider.

After much research the decision was AMX due primarly to penetration of the Colombian Market.

Things have been up ever since.
