Colombian restaurants in DC?

Hi!

My husband and I are in the DC area for this week (reston, va) and we would love to have some Colombian yummy food (I am just dying for a patacon, my mouth is watery while I write this :P)

So we were wondering if anyone has good recommendation of something... A great plus is if it's close to this reston area.

Thanks

Silvia

mapquest & google recommend hi silvia-

mapquest claims that silver spring, md is roughly 30 - 40 minutes from reston, va. if that's not too far....i found this listing on google...so i can't offer any personal experiences...but they claim they serve colombian and mexican dishes

Los Arrieros Restaurant & Night Club offers a combination of Colombian and Mexican cuisine. Their menu includes: Chorizo con arepa, morcilla con arepa, patacon, platano frito con queso y guayaba, vegetable taco salad, green pepper and beans burrito, vegetables mexican pizza, mix fajitas, taco combo and chimichanga combo.

Colombian Restaurant in DC There's a Colombian restaurant called Aguardiente on the edge of Georgetown on 24th Street, a little bit north of M St., NW. You can drive, or metro to DuPont Circle (walk down New Hampshire Ave to N St, to 24th St.). The menu is a mix of South America, but my Colombian girlfriend likes to go there when she's homesick (closest thing to Colombian in DC, that we know about).

Hope this helps!

Colombian Restaurants. Silvia, there are various restaurants in the area where you can find Colombian food.

The closest to Reston is Montserrate. It is located in Glebe Road between I-66 and Route 50.
85 North Glebe Road
Arlington, VA 22203-3703
703-528-2789

Then there is Guarapos, a pricier restaurant in Courthouse.
2039 Wilson Boulevard
Arlington, VA 22209
202-263-7363.

From the same owner of Guarapos, you can find in DC Aguradiente. It is also above the average price.
1250 24th Street NW
Washington, DC
202-833-8500

In Maryland, there is Arrieros
7926 Georgia Avenue
Silver Spring, MD 20910
301-495-9445

Finally if you are in the mood to drive all the way to Gaithersburg, you can visit La Caleña Bakery
9120 Rothbury Drive
Gaithersburg, Maryland
301-330-2801

On a final note and although it is not really a restaurant, you should also visit Chi-Cha lounge. It is from the same owner of Guarapos and Aguardiente. It was voted best lounge in DC by the Washington Post.
1624 U St. NW,
Washington, DC 20037
202-234-8400

Enjoy!
