Uncle Sam needs you !!! If you are licensed in Colombia, able to pass CGFNS
and TOEFL, willing to work under contract for 1-2 years ~ $20/hr then good ol' USA
wants you.
p.s. I don't work nor intend to advertise/endorse any agencies/institutions/hospitals.
Nursing shortage is a fact. We need ~ 500,000 in the U.S.

Gator says on Sep 26, 2005, 07:06: It Ain't That Easy... one of the wife's sisters is a nurse and the test(s) are a bitch-she has not made it yet. She wants to works in Florida so she has been dealing with the State Nursing Board in Jacksonville. Something else she found out-CHECK OUT ANY AGENCY THAT RECRUITS NURSES AND YOU DEAL WITH. "Credidi pretio parvo emere et magno vendere tibi in animo fuisse!" . 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Pappassito says on Aug 29, 2007, 05:50: Spot on,Gator, this is very true. The testing isn`t easy at all... And there are some scurrlious operators out there trying to take Colombian nurses for a ride, wanting the little money that they make in exchange for the so called "American dream". Hospitals here typically pay international nurses less... substantially less.for the 1st 2 years that they are here. It is different for the filipinio nurses.. most of them grow up speaking english.. so the language barrier isn`t there for them. There are schools set up in that country to specifically train nurses to work in the US.. We call them "nurse farms". Many filipino nurses try to promote themselves by saying they are the best in what they do. While it is true that the hospitals here love them because they`ll work many hours for little money, myself & most of my counterparts find them to be very clannish & uncaring with our patients. Truly caring for your patients and their outcomes is an essential part of this profession. That is why I think that Colombian nurses do well here. Unfortunately,we are being overrun by the "filipino mafia"... a common term among gringo nurses.
