My wife is bugging the hell out of me to come up with some names for our daughter. She is due to arrive on 23'rd of May. She is also adamantly against using any names already in use by her relatives. This makes it a difficult task as she has ten siblings and she is the last to have a child. Her mother also had 10-11 siblings so basically 98% of latinas names are "taken".
She is using Juliana for the time being. A good suggestion may save my marriage as
I told her that I would be the one filling out the paper work while she is recovering and that I felt like buckethead would work fine.

Direct Consular Filing for residents should still a viable option. As I recall you will need four months of residency; but, I am not sure of the time frame. "cook some rice!" 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

lpdiver says on Feb 16, 2005, 07:43: The root problem is... A cultural one. In my culture there is nothing at all wrong with naming your child after a relative or friend. But for my wife...she doesn't like this. With her large family and lots of friends almost all names that I like are "taken". Personaly I would choose Anamalea (sp?) Lena after her two fav. nieces.. There are so many Juans, they have to tack on part of their middle name to distinguish them. My oldest stepson is known as Juanfer (Juan Fernando).
