Colombian music

We're opening a Colombian bar in Norway as a "social business" (see goldencolombia.org and goldencolombia.com) and we're right now loading our MP3 jukebox.

Please suggest the tunes you'd want to hear in this bar in a) daytime and b)nighttime. Both Latin and Colombian.

Thanks!

Vallenato canon Let me refrase it: I'm more looking for the Colombian canon within, say, these three genres. For Vallenato the top 10 is easy but I'm not as sure as for the salsa and cumbia canons.

- A mi no me consuela nadie
- Mathilde Lina
- La diosa coronada
- Los Tocaimeros
- El cantor de Fonseca
- La nostalgia de Poncho
- Catalina Daza
- Amor amor
- La gota fría
- Jaime Molina

some suggesstions CUMBIA:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_Colombia#Cumbia

It is worth pointing out that the "classic" cumbia known throughout Colombia is the Cumbia Cienaguera. This song reflects a uniquely Colombian feel known as "sabor" (flavour) and "ambiente" (atmosphere). Arguably, this song has remained a Colombian staple through the years and is widely known as Colombia's unofficial national anthem. Some cumbia artists are: Los Hispanos, Los Graduados,Los Black Stars,Los Golden Boys,Los Teen Agers, and Los Corraleros De Majagual.

SALSA:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_Colombia#Colombian_Salsa

Salsa music was born among Puerto Ricans and Cubans, and soon spread to Colombia, popularized by Fruko y sus Tesos. Artists like Joe Arroyo followed, inventing a distinctively Colombian form of salsa. Though it is salsa, all the same one can hear the difference between Cuban salsa and Colombian salsa. Other influential Colombian salsa musicians include Cristian Del Real "Timbal Genius", Grupo Niche, Alquimia, La Misma Gente, Los Titanes, Los Nemus del Pacífico, Orquesta Guayacán and Grupo Galé.

Colombian music If you know someone who lives in Colombia buy the “Las 100 mejores cumbias de todas las epocas” or if you know someone in New Orleans you can buy the “Grandes Clasicos de la Cumbia”, or you can follow Microllo, Going_south and Paisaberraco’s cumbia recommendations and here they are:

Cumbias
"The cumbias from the 70's and 80's are still the most popular, and whenever there is a reunion of Colombians, the songs from these artists are the ones most frequently heard. Ten of the best artists and some of their best songs in no particular order are:
1) Rodolfo: "Colegiala" "Boquíta de Caramelo"
2) Pastor Lopez: "Traicionera" "Pecadora"
3) Los Tupamaros: "La Negra Tomasa" "Tu Ausencia"
4) Los Huarahuacos: "El Canoero" "El Pescador de Barú
5) Lisandro Mesa: "El Polverete" "La Cumbia del Amor"
6) La Sonora Dinamita: "La Conga "Amor de Mis Amores"
7) Afrosound: "Tiro al Blanco" "Aguita y Coco"
8) Armando Hernandez: "Por Retenerte" "La Zenaida"
9) Gambino Pampini: "Rumores" "Morena Consentida"
10) Luis Felipe González: "La Saporrita" "La Proclama"
