hmm Im a second generation Colombian-American. I live in NJ though and you wont find a big community of Colombian American guys where I live either theres like three families in the city I live in that our "Colombian". So youl definately have to look abroad if you want to find Colombian guys easily. My friend that goes to university with me hes from Bogota and prefers Colombian girls over Americans anyday.

I’ve been going back to Colombia since 1979; I only got laid, for free, once! while in the USA I was the Colombian Wilt Chamberin, I nailed hundreds, many even thousands of gringas, including Latina Americanas and it did not cost me a dime, as a matter of fact I was a kept man, like a male slut, male hooker.

The ones that do that are mostly middle class/rich colombianas, while most of the very poor love their Colombian guys to death, and I mean that literally. Costenos I found that most of the good-looking guys on the coast were so into themselves they had no time for anyone else. Don't get me wrong, I got my fair share of attention from Colombian men, but only because I'm blonde and as white as they come, and most of it came from either the boys I was teaching (to try to get better grades) or from 80-year old homeless guys with no front teeth.

It is soooo true that a lot of Colombian guys want a girl to treat them like their Mummy does, but every now and then you find one who thinks outside of the box. Most Colombian guys THINK they want a foreigner, but find them too independent, too strong-willed, and too liberated. They like to feel needed, despite thinking they'll appreciate the freedom we'll give them.

I found that most are nice to look at, interesting to talk to, find you intriguing, but aren't in it for the long haul.

I think it depends on the family I think a lot depends on how the parents raise them. I would say the majority are used to very domestic mothers who do a lot for them. If you are thinking about a long-term relationship with a latino, I would definately observe the household norms and talk with him about it.

I do have a question about latino men...my latino husband although he would never raise raise a hand to me, swears that 85% of all latino men are abusive to their wives. He says that is the norm. I have a hard time believing that the percentage is that high. What do you guys think?

The amount of looks and eye contact I got from the girls in Mangos, universities was beyond any expectation. The only annoying part was colombian dudes staring hard at me so I don't look at their girl. Quit staring at me, and tell your girl to stop looking :)

Keep your options open, and, sure, try dating one ( preferably directly from colombia, not an americanized colombiano, so many of them change, start dressing wierd, trying to act like they have money, when they don't, it's just wierd, alot of them have such a "bad ass" attitude). but, I do agree with many others, pay very close attention to his family if your serious enough, family is a huge deal there, and, it does just depend on how the man is raised, values, morals, how he treats a lady. Some of them I know quite well, some others almost not at all.

I feel extremely discouraged even to get started on this subject because of the prejudice and ignorance reflected in the opinions of some posters above. (Colombian girls are no better looking than Colombian men, neither are they taller, thinner, more intelligent, more talented, have better values(???whatever), higher morals etc. bs you read on these threads. There are only individuals who have better education, better family background, nicer personality, better looks etc. than some others. Like in any country.

I never gave much thought about wether or not they were on average better or worst looking than americanos. Who cares?

They can be very charming, humorous and disarming around women. Americanos are "intenso" in comparison because they just don't get it often enough or have to work so damn hard to get it and keep it.

I don't know if colombianos are shorter and more out of shape than americanos in the same age bracket but they sure as hell get laid a lot more. Whose laughing now!
