Colombian Festivals in Chicago

Airetupal and G5, you guys mentioned some festivals in Chicago. Are those happening in '06? DO you know when? Was trying to find out some more info, but can't seem to find anything other than the Latin Music Festival down by the lake this year. Cheers!

Yes every year. CUPULA (Colombianos Unidos Para Un Labor Activa) promotes one of the two large Colombian independence festivals in Chicago. It is held in the Forest Reserve Miller Meadows in Maywood Park, IL located on Roosevelt Rd and 1 st Ave. Usually the 3rd weekend in July. [before or after July 20]

You can get more information by picking up the spanish language newspaper La-Raza in any Spanish/Mexican supermarket or in the The Reader weekend guide, and also try the weekend guide in the Tribune around those dates.

I know of another Colombian picnic/event that is held in Morton Grove on Dempster and Lincoln. Thats too far for me, I live in Bolingbrook.
