Colombian Embassies in U.S. and getting my dog into Colombia

In the next couple of months, I will have to go to one of the Colombian Embassies in the U.S. to get my work documents and visa processed.

Is the Chicago, New York or Washington, D.C., Embassy the easiest to work with?

Does anyone know anything about getting a dog (Black Lab, 75 pounds) into the country? I'm sure I will need her immunization and health records, but what else?
I know that you can only take one dog and one cat (for the entire passenger list) on most flights...or something like that. I'm sure it depends on the individual airlines, and how much I'm willing to pay?

caulfield.... i've had the not so notorious experience of taking dogs into colombia twice, and chickens, once.

dogs are a piece of cake. you need the OBVIOUS all their shot records including current rabies,etc. a call to the embassy will get you current.

cost: it can be from u.s. $0.00 to $125.00 and as different as that is, i honestly think it is based on their mood. i've done both on avianca. .00 and 125.00. so you figure it out.

chickens is a whole other story. i'll wait til you ask before i get off on that.

They are called consulates and you have to work with the one which serves the area of the United States that you live in.
