What a great interview....thanks for the post! Minister Santos is one hell of an impressive man. This administration might go down in History as the best Colombia has ever had. It's about time someone or some administration took the bull by the horns and made something happen. No more talking, it's time for action. I love it!

In my humble opinion this interview by JIM LEHRER of PBS goes to show the level of expertise that these PBS jounalists exercise; straight from the horse's mouth. I just don't get any better. How he manage to get Santo (defense minister) to tell all?

NPR (National Public Radio) is also tops on my list; I've posted some of their in-depth broadcasts and interviews. They inquiry from everyone, which includes military, gerrillas, NGOs, and run-of-the-mill colombians trying to get by.

However, as neither of these two news outlets chomp at the bit with patriotic hogwash, they are sometimes dismissed lightly as "pro-FARC" or "Leftist", specially when describing and documenting state-sponsored terrorism.

Again in my humble opinion, the fact that both Gafas and Cesar made it alive -and were not "dropped" in mid-flight, or worse, is due to the long struggle by this insurgency -whatever it may have moprhed to-. In another era, these two wouldn't have had a chance.

Peace.
