Robert Jorge says on Apr 10, 2007, 15:41:

I enjoy both sites. PBH and CBlog are different, but equally interesting to me. I have very rarely seen anything that could even be interpreted by the most sensitive as "Colombia bashing" on CBlog. I have seen it more here. I would say CBlog is more reserved and dare I say mature than this site? (And nothing wrong with that!) But I have rarely fell out of my seat laughing when on CBlog. That happens often here at PBH.
Simon, I don't get your hang-up(s). Of course the majority of the participants on both sites are English speaking. So what? A large amount of the members are also Colombian, are married to Colombians, have interest in Colombia, etc. I fail to see why that is negative. I think it is pretty cool actually. If these sites are so horrible, why did you sign up, log in, read this thread, and then respond? Maybe you are in the closet so to speak, and really do enjoy these great sites, despite your negative words.

That site cannot be compared to this site at all!!
Just go ahead and find out, ask the moderators over there or search for yourself and you find several colombian dead bodies.

Some members post here because they feel they are going be clowns in the future so they need to practice. Some post here because they want to get laid and want to find out how, some post here because they want to find out all about Colombia from a website, some post here because the want to pursue a career in writing, some post here because they do not have nothing to do and want to feel appreciated, some because they want to change the country with their personal propaganda, some post here because they want to find a doctor for free to cure them with their spiked drinks, some just want to be famous, some just want to stare at the monitor to see if something will happen...

But I never imagined to see so much crap written about my country and I find it really repulsive, especially when it comes from other colombians. But, monpirri, which reason brings you here? I laughed harder & harder, the further I read into & through your post there, all the way down to 'to stare at the monitor & see if something will happen'.

That is the most inspired writing I have seen from you in some time.

Simon, I don't think that's it Though I can see exactly what you're talking about for sure. You know, speak to any person from the US and they will have 100 bitches about the states. Deep down they are proud of being from the US and don't despise it. The same for Colombia and Colombians on this site and in the country at times.

It's that if everyone came to a website and talked about how great Colombia is "all the time", it would be boring. It's just human nature to get a laugh or chuckle out of infighting and people like to get things off their chest about Colombia here, AS WELL AS talk about all the great things there. On another site, I'm sure they do the same thing about the US.

I honestly don't think there is one person here (UTC included) that does not in their own way love Colombia. So try to take it all with a grain of salt kind of like a presidential election. You can cast your vote and then let the chips fall where they may, but to get upset about it serves no purpose.

I browsed over that Cblog a few times when it allowed people to do so without registering and one thing that I found ridiculous was that they seem to discuss everything but Colombia. The guy who runs it claims to be Colombian when in reality he's about as Colombian as Mickey Mouse! It seems this dude just created that site to spew his pro-american agenda and bash anyone who dares to disagree with his views. This guy seemed to hate every famous colombian who dares to represent the country in a positive manner, every time someone mentioned one of our talented and prominent citizens, he'd spare no effort to badmouth them. At least here, there's no one bossing or threatening anyone else around.

I absolutely loathe and despise CB because it tolerates racist comments by a Mexican-American moderator who has absolutely NO connection to Colombia. None. Rien. Nada. Every statement she makes begins "Speaking as a Latina...." as though being Latina gave her some kind of instant credibility to speak on anything Colombian. If you disagree with her then she'll start saying things like "you should stick to your own people". Much worse things than are ever posted here and yet no one says a word about it except privately because they are afraid of antagonizing her. PBSH is full of nonsense but at least people speak out against the kind of racist nonsense that is a staple of CB.

You have absolutely no foundation to call me a racist. If people decide to leave CBlog that's their choice. I do not feel guilty about the fact that you left. Actually, I'm glad you did. You took the boys club with you, and I thank you for it. Too bad the serious posters at PBH still have to deal with you disrespecting women (and there is plenty proof of it here on PBH).

utopiacowboy says on Apr 10, 2007, 22:33:

You're right, I don't know what I was thinking of when I was told that I should stick to my own people. How could I think that was racist? BTW, I would not use anything posted on PBSH as proof of anything other than a huge pile of BS. If you believe anything posted here you may be as naive as Manlnred.

There you go again... Hmmm....I never said for you to stick to your own people. If I remember correctly, I asked you if "you would stick UP for your own people?" There is nothing racist about that statement. Again, you have absolutely no foundation to call me a racist.

I think you need to revisit that thread, sir, just to refresh your memory.

If you didn't like the format of CBlog orthat there are moderators who will check you, then say that. You don't like me and I don't like you, that's a fact, just stop mentioning my name each time you have to diss CBlog. I doubt I was the reason you left, and if you did, that's ridiculous because you have been told awful things on this forum and you are still here, the only difference here you are given free reign, cowboy, which I believe, is the reason you like it so much.

Perhaps, I am with manNred. I actually once came here for information. Now, it is more of a joke session than anything. Fortunately, I have enough email addresses to get some of the information that I may need for my travels to Colombia, which I will continue. I'm glad that people enjoy their time here. I still get a laugh out of "information" posted here although I have not really seen any of it to be useful in a while now.

Although I am not announcing my departure, I have lost some interest in this site(no offense to anyone) and hope that when I do have questions about my plans to visit Colombia again, I can come here for some input(as I have before). If not, as I said before, I have recieved a great number of email addresses from members here that seem to have an interest in Colombia similar to mine.

I don't necessarily expect everyone to have an interst in Colombia similar to mine. It's interesting to read different views. It's hard not to come away with wonder at how different people can be from one another.

Having stated my opinion about the cabal, I must quickly admit that the site is a good one. There are individuals over there, I refer specifically to JD and Rubito, who make real contributions. They will even come to your rescue when the girls get too riled up.

I find no conflict of interest in being mod on both two sites; I have the time and the interest and there's room for more Colombia-related sites on the web. The more the merrier.

I will show you the Stooges I love the Cblogianas - they know how to tell it like it is. Too bad it smacks the face of the mail order internet bride guys that comprise 90% of this site. No wonder those guys leave there and come back here to their safety in numbers frat boy mentality home. The women there (who do not live in Colombia) collaborate tremendously with what I experience with the Colombianas living in Colombia.

It's a shame the site is down and also it's a shame that it's tough to manage. PBH software is quicker. Although I have no problem sifting through the meaningless information, Cblog has about 30% useless crap where it's more like 80% here on PBH.

Also on Cblog are we going to get to see photos of Morph's stabbin' cabin? I submit that we will not.

So we need both. Take your pick, but don't forget to ask your wife or her family first.

I can't wait to be back in Colombia - I never read or post on these sites when I'm there.

But while I'm here - ST MARKS! C'mon maricas, you guys are killing me, lets gooooooo! Rubi WTF? Don't make me send the fuzzy red guy.

DNA will tell... co.blog is a site about kissing each other asses while they put down Colombia. Co.blot promotes fights among Colombians in order to maintain the leadership of the few anti-Colombians, (About 4 or maybe 5 individuals) Women's viewpoints in co.blog? You also failed to mention that there are too many women in the graveyard because they dared to speak against the clan.

Rocinante Too bad you don't post very much on CBlog. I like your style. I already emailed JD but I have not received a response. I hope the site isn't down for good.

"Is it down again?" Four words a guy never wants to hear.
