Colombia–Israel relations 101
Colombia–Israel relations are the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Colombia and the State of Israel which were officially established in the mid-1950s.
•
History
In 1947, during a United Nations session, General Assembly Resolution 181 recommended the partition of British Mandate Palestine into one Jewish and one Arab state. Colombia abstained.
In the mid 1950s both countries officially established diplomatic relations and set up embassies in Bogotá and Tel Aviv respectively. Relations improved tremendously in 1988 when major trade agreements were signed between Israel and Colombia.

kalder says on Jun 17, 2009, 00:21: So there's Israeli mercenaries in Colombia? I hope they're shot. But there's British and Irish mercenaries/terrrorists there too (and I hope they're shot as well)- but none of them are representatives of their race and nation. Anymore than drug cartels are of Colombia. "A piece of cheese may entrap a mouse, but a bicycle could ensnare the Imperial Chancellor."~~An Bai Kuang 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

romy says on Jun 18, 2009, 00:06: Pedro, what opinion? The Israeli involvement in training paramilitaries has been somewhat exposed, to the point that convictions have been made. Or do you have evidence that proves Klein's innocence?

davidslc46 says on Jun 18, 2009, 08:02: Israel kicks ass and does not really care that much about what others think about them except that if you deny their right to exist you are going to be perpetually threatened with an overwhelming response to provocation. A response that many in the western world including the USA and most likely Colombia will remain rather silent on.
