Colombian Airline Websites

I'm sure this topic has been posted before, but of all the airlines in the world, the worst website has to be Avianca's. It is SO non-user firendly. In fact, Aires has it beat by a mile in ease-of-use. However both are better than Satena's, you can't even buy tickets online.

What do you think?

Good collection of info. Thanks.

I also suggest www.spiritair.com for cheap flights. Mine was $400 from NYC

I wonder why Spirit no longer offer low fares to Cartagena, perhaps 'cause they are down to 5 weekly flights???

There's a lot of bad web sites when it comes to businesses in Colombia. When I was planning our wedding in Colombia I was only able to find basic info out there. It seems like vendors, caterers, churches, even travel agencies are stuck in the ice age when it comes to this type of technology. It was extremely frustrating since I was here in the US and couldn't find much online.

I fly with aires inside colombia solely because their webpage actually works.

Might try a different airline if they fixed their webpages so that you can actually purchase tickets.

Spirits deals come and go, they will have cheap Cartagena fares again sometime.

I'm surprised that Spirit has reduced their flights. I keep looking and can't book anthing, they're always filled up!

I have used Avianca's website three times in the last month and find it just as user-friendly as any other American airline or internet site (Orbitz, for example).

Here is a test I did after your statement

Flight Itinerary
Date Flight Time Seat Type Approx. Miles
06/15/2009 NK259 Atlantic City (ACY) to Fort Lauderdale/Miami Area (FLL) 7:10 AM-9:45 AM Deluxe Leather 977
06/15/2009 NK859 Fort Lauderdale/Miami Area (FLL) to Cartagena, Colombia (CTG) 10:40 AM-12:25 PM Deluxe Leather 1117
06/28/2009 NK946 Cartagena, Colombia (CTG) to Fort Lauderdale/Miami Area (FLL) 1:15 PM-5:10 PM Deluxe Leather 1123
06/28/2009 NK268 Fort Lauderdale/Miami Area (FLL) to Atlantic City (ACY) 8:00 PM-10:35 PM Deluxe Leather 977
ACYCTG
Number of Passengers:1
Airfare :

Taxes and Fees:(what's this?)

Taxes and Fees

APHIS User Fee:$5.00

CO - Airport Tax:$64.00

CO-Tourist Tax:$10.00

Immigration User Fee:$7.00

Passenger Civil Security Fee:$7.50

Passenger Facility Fee:$13.50

US Customs Fee:$5.50

US-International Departure Tax:$32.20

Travel Guard Travel Insurance : (Tell me more)
Total: Total Due $512.70

$512.70 is clearly not a bad price for an international flight from the Newark/NYC/Philadelphia area

So I guess you should try your luck with them again.

I traveled from FLL to CTG roundtrip on Spirit last year for 175 USD. Now I can't find them any lower than 400 USD. Maybe I'm now spoiled. CTG is no longer one of the cities on the $9 fare club. :(
