There is a dark force operating here The dark force is whoever has destroyed the image of The Good old Hotdog. Has anybody ever had a Colombian Hotdog? It's the most wretched of all the american foods served here. It's the worst grade of sausage( ie: mixture of turkey, chicken and pork anuses )served on a sessame seed bun with mayonayse, ketchup and cheese whiz type cheese and then it is topped with smashed potato chips. Please God!!!! Do something!!!!These are the dark forces that Uribe should be focusing on.

maria I agree the normal hotdog is crap...but have you had a Zenu hotdog...I think they call them American ....they are actually not bad at all....but the stuff you find on the street is made from left over donkey parts......believe me I tasted everyone on the search for a good dog and zenu was my top pick

Thanks, Mariasman, for keeping us focused on the important things.

I have not tried the Colombian hotdogs. However, the best hotdogs I've ever eaten have been in Mexico... they put them in huge buns and smother them with grilled onions, peppers, beans, mayonaisse (I leave this off, yuck!), mustard, cheese, salsa, and guacamole. Wash it down with a cold horchata, and you're in heaven!

Try the hot dogs in Star Mart or Tiger Mart, more americanized (good sausage, melted cheddar cheese, regular white cheese, chili beans, and yes, smashed chips, but all optional) and not that expensive.

But I actually like the colombian street version too... yes, even the '2 stories' type with pineapple jam AND quail egg on top (huevo de codorniz) in Santa Rosa de Cabal!

Thanks for the info So, the ZENU hotdog eh? I try to keep us updated on what just makes sense. I mean, we are in Colombia so lets talk food. This place is a mecca for some of the most deliscious foods I have ever tasted. Especially "The Arepa". This is the most deliscious F-ing thing I have ever tasted. Hey, does anyone know who makes the best Bandeja Paisa here in Cali. That is on of the true Colombian Cocaines. I don't think that this creation can be matched anywhere in the world. In fact, I will be eating it tomorrow night. Another thing I can't eat here is Lengua and sobre barriga. For the life of me, I just cant get theseb types of meats past the back of my tongue. There is nothing worse then when that wet raw barriga makes that slapping sound as it hits the cutting board before preparation or watching that cold wet tongue that looks like something from a Charles manson movie just laying there. Now, Huyucos are another thing that when prepared right, they can send you down the pathway of eating bliss. Lasst on the list of my favorites is the infamous chontaduro with honey and salt. I think that this only grows here in colombia. This is true rock cocaine to my mouth. Now with all these deliscious treats, who cares what they do with the hotdog here. I will try this ZENU however. Thanks for the updates.
